This is true. It would be great to get solid production out of a first round draft pick. Also, it keeps Jack as a sparkplug to insert into the midfield late.
So the next preseason game is the 27th against the u-17's and then what does anybody know? At some point we're supposed to be heading to Argentina if I remember correctly.
BTW: Dave van den Berg is Red Bulls leading scorer in the preseason with 3. Doesn't that tie him with Eddie & Josh's entire goal total from last season?
Well that blows that theory... Merlin, you and your facts have been quite the tangent killer here lately. (preseason ain't over yet neither)
No in the end DVB will be like every other pro player here in KC that leaves and joins a another team. The following season they play lights out and get there team to the playoffs.
Is this guy EJ's agent, or has he just never actually seen him play? [Idiotese translation]It will take a lot of luck for the Wizards to finish higher than 5th[/Idiotese translation] Nice journalism . Nuff said.
Yeah, the only bit of news in the whole article was the coaches' supremacy in soccer tennis. The most shocking thing was that an article on the KC Wizards would be that long on purpose. Good deal that is, regardless of content. Two bits that did jump out that are not news: EJ's flailing arms at imprecise play to him. This contradicts video articles on MS that indicated EJ's more selfless, teammate friendly approach. PR v reality. The coaches being involved day to day in on field competiton. It's a difference between young coaches and old coaches in every sport. What difference it makes on the field remains a question, but at least practice is more fun. In my experience when practice is more fun, players tend to talk more in games, inter-relate faster, and more willingly. Call it Chemistry, playing for eachother, team IQ, whatever. When combined with quality, it usually leads to teams being able to switch gears from loose to top-end A game seemlessly and back when required. We'll see -WC
I play for a local University, and our coaches are always involved in the games with us. I feel that it can be good if coaches practice what they preach, but if they play a completly different way then it is no fun for the players. I hope the former is the case for Onalfo.
An excellent point. FYI, the only coach I've ever had in my sport at any level was a 4-time All American at Ohio St. He was also still fit enough to have it matter. He tried to beat the bejesus out of us with his skill. In short, learning was either amplified or painful, you're choice. It's worth noting he was never in there approaching a match, just during fun time at ends of practice or when we were rolling so well there wasn't much to sort out. From your post maybe you are not so lucky. If so, you need to catch your coach in office hours (with your Captain) and explain your thoughts.
Found this nice little article of our boy Jimmy and didn't see it posted so thought I'd share. I sure am glad that guys our captain. http://www.socceramerica.com/article.asp?Art_ID=562138667 There's also a nice blue jersey of his on the auction block at mlsnet.
I mentioned the auction in the catch all thread, and I just started a new thread for the article, figured it was worth it's own thread.

Just found this Wizards Preseason Guide....pretty cool: http://kc.wizards.mlsnet.com/pdf/kcw/2007/kc_preseason_guide.pdf
Not just Klein. John Tate, Supan, just to name a few. All KC sports teams really seem to have this problem.
