Hey, I put the Wizards on eBay just in case we need some extra help. I was sure to specify "Seller will not ship outside Kansas City Area". For the record, I stole the idea from Randy Miller and the Royals but I thought it was appropriate.
15 million. That's about right, isn't it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2914&item=5215497350&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
I saw this with the Earthquakes once, but I thought it was a Rivalries joke. Makes us seem a little desperate doesn't it, when we already have strong confirmed local bids?
I agree. It's funny, but at the same time is almost a knock on our sale process. It especially may not be appropriate considering what's happening in San Jose right now. I think the last thing we should be doing is joking about the sale of a team (ours, or any other).
Don't get yourself in trouble either... i would make sure to put a clause on there about the winning bid gets to be submitted to Lamar Hunt, the current owner... and that he is not sponsoring this auction... just to cover your tail... good luck... wouldn't that be interesting if some young European prince was on eBay and just decided to do it?
Don't worry, I already added the bit about Hunt Sports Group (down by the bottom). It's not desparate, just checking all avenues. Besides, I want the 15 million to buy the team myself. The posting isn't a "joke". If I get the money, I'd try to buy the team...we'll cross the "pay salaries" bridge when we get to it... Anyway, I'm some random disconnected guy 2,000 miles away. I'd hardly throw any plans into jeopardy. The worst that could happen is I get kicked off of eBay for a long time. Too bad since I have a 100% approval rating.
