Not sure if anyone is interested, but I work at a large format printing shop, I have over a hundred yards of scrap flag material and I can print up a boatload of supporters flags.....email me if you are interested and Ill email you my designs...the fire fans usually bring alot of banners and flags and I hate them for it........we must outdo them.

That would be an awesome idea. One day I would love to see the Metrostars facing the Wizards in KC and the Cauldron is flowing with supporters and flags everywhere.. Good luck!

Hmm, "matthias" - cool, that's my name too.

Oh yeah, and the more flags the better!

I'm interested in a flag if you make them up Matthias. I would love to see flags all over the place waving in unison.

Considering that Jace has the other flags covered, I'd think a US and a Romanian flag would work nicely together.

I think this a good idea and could help the overall "image" of the Cauldron. While false, a prevailing image of the Cauldron is "those people who drink and cuss". However, adding more flags might help people think of the Cauldron as "those people who cheer on the Wizards with a lot of passion".

I realize there already are flags, but I don't think more could hurt, and actually they might help.

    Just my thoughts...

    true...can't hurt

Im doing them all in the same color schemes to give an overall effect of blue and white, adding more national flags will look too chaotic....all blue and white... is 50 or 60 3ft x 4ft too many?

    1. For the record, (ANDY MEAD), Matthias is a long-time Cauldronite; he's speaking from a position of knowledge.

    2. Who is this other person in Durham?

    3. Don't bother printing it up using the Wizards' logo. For one, they probably wouldn't let us use it, as they sell a competing product. More importantly, it's really expensive to print, and surplus to our requirements. The visual effect would be achieved with a bunch of blue and white flags.

Blanco, azul, azul, y mas azul...

False?!? Um, OK. I don't know how to break this to you but I do drink, have seen others act similarly, and on rare occasion I've been known to utter a hard consonant or two.

Obviously I have a flag, but what a great opportunity from our benefactor. Good job. Make sure you write off the material, labor, and printing cost as a charitable gift to the Mystics...a not-for profit org. A local plumbing contractor/builder, etc. might be willing to write off scrap PVC as poles for said flags. Knowing the size of the PVC obtained in advance would make it easier to determine how big to make the sleeve on the one side and therefoire how big the flags must be...I digress.

Sam's comment of blue and white designs being better than logo flags is correct in my view. Color was, is, and will always be the main factor. Me? I would go with bold thick horizontal stripes (blue on top and bottom), big checkers (blue in the corners - Aside, I'd like to see KC get a jersey eventually that emulated Croatia's prominent checkerboard. With all the blue teams, incorporating a checker would be distinctive. Colorado went to stripes...), or blue with a white bold block "KC". Another idea might be a full blue background with tiny repeated white KC's and/or white Wizards' logo outlines. I don't know how that would look, but I'd like to see it. No black in any way, shape, or form.

    I repeat...NO BLACK.

One goal of the Mystics should be to move to delete black from the media guide's team colors. Black is for San Ho and Colorado, we've evolved. :)

For the record, I asked the FO way back when about using the logo and was told, "We'd love to have you make a flag. It's not going to be a problem. Go ahead. BTW, no metal poles."

what are the FO's requirements for flag poles before they are allowed into the stadium? Do we need to get these check out prior to games? Do we need some type of paper work we carry withus to show that these are acceptable?

Re: Blanco, azul, azul, y mas azul...

    1. Croatia is exactly what I have in mind. Especially if we can transport the Dalmatian Coast to the Missouri River.

    2. They used to be borderline cavalier about letting people use the logo. I guess if they weren't sold for profit, they'd still be cool about it, but, again, I don't think the six-color logo is necessary.

    input?

thanks for posting them...these are pretty rough drafts and are easy to change up , maybe there are some better taglines or slogans....email me your ideas and Ill whip up some new designs. Nothing is set in stone, and as far as security goes,my first set of four flags was taken by security at the gate last year...surely someone with the mystics can get them in. FYI: I ditched the rainbow and the ball from logo becouse I can't stand that part of it, I think the wizards text works fine by itself.....thanks everyone for the emails so far....when it's all said and done it will only take me two days to print them so we have plenty of time to talk designs........

As a Metrostars supporter, I think these flags are really cool. I hope to see them on the tele when the Metrostars play the Wiz....

I love the Lions theme and look. The only thing would be to change the hat to a crown type thing with it's gemstones and decorations being the "mystical" moon and stars type wizardry slant.

The only reservation I have about the Lions is that it is a bit Eng-er-land like. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I mean if that's who you are... ;)

    Otherwise, they all look great.

a blue and white checkered jersey would vault us to the best looking jerseys in the league. for this reason, i won't hold my breath.

...damnit, now i can't stop thinking about how great a jersey that'd be. who do we have to lobby to get that!

The only suggestion I have on the flag designs is to simplify them a bit...
I love what's there, but it will be hard to see on a waving flag.
