Interesting. Depth at defense will be a plus. I'm wondering what we gave Dallas if this trade turns out to be official? Here's the link to mlsnet.com biography of Morrison: http://mlsnet.com/bios/lee_morrison.html
The original thread was from Saturday. Morrison is still on the Burn roster at MLSnet.com. I wonder if he doesnt want to come to KC? So it hasnt been announced? James
The kid is a still a rookie, if he wants to play soccer professionaly he will play were he is told to play.
it's definately official burn got draft picks for him, he will be with team in south africa this week
If he's smart he'll see that KC is a better place to get his career on track than Dallas. In Dallas he was buried so far down the depth chart, his own mother may have forgotten his name. In KC, he'll be with a team that is looking for someone to step up and lay claim to a spot in central D right now. This is his chance to show his stuff. Dallas is just way too crowded in back this season, as a lot of our guys are going to find out.
Actually, our defense's bench is stacked. One of our up and coming players is probably going to sit alot of the games. Brunt is fast, not tactically sound yet, but that can be learned. Morrow will have an uphill battle for a starting role. The way I see it the competition right now for center back is between Burciaga and Talley.
I don't disagree with your assesment. The fact that we are discussing picking up Morrison might indicate that the 2 defenders we drafted (Graham and Freidland) are failing to impress. Does anyone know? If neither of these young men make the team our roster has the following defenders: Garcia, Burciaga, Talley, Conrad, and Brunt. Armstrong is listed as MF/Def but I think his talents are wasted in the back. Morrison would be the sixth true defender.
As Sam noted, Burciaga looked pretty good at the first-look practice.... but then again, he's been playing competitive games very recently. He's probably one of the few that was in match shape.
Their goes Chris Brown. If he got traded their he would never see the pitch. Kreis Johnson Rhine Cerritos Thompson Tranchilla Yeah, I would say the are stocked on forwards.
Isnt Burciaga an outside back? I don't see him competing for a spot in the middle. Where is he playing in practice? James
I am wondering if maybe Talley could see some time at D Mid too? Didn't he play some at that position with DC?
