Diego, Zotinca, and Preki appear to have been drafted is the misl comets and cleveland dispersal draft. Last time I checked, these guys didn't play for the comets. is this a mistake, or does the league somehow have their rights or what? i was just curious. Also diego walsh was in the draft.

They do not show up on the roster listed on the MISL website. Perhaps its an easter egg for the observant reader to find?

Diego Walsh was drafted as well in round 9.

I would guess that this is similar to other drafts where teams draft the rights to a player should they be able to convince them to join the league. Someone should have drafted Zidane. :D

I'm assuming this is Don's son? Anyone seen him play? It's got to be disheartening to be taken after 4 teams decide to take no one...;)

The teams owned the rights to those players. In the MISL even if the player leaves the league the team they last played for owns their rights. So even though some of those guys either never played or have not played for a long time the team still had the rights and now the teams that drafted have their rights so if any of them decide to return to the MISL they will either have to play their or the team will get compensated for them if they choose to play elsewhere.

Yes, Scott is Don's son. He just graduated from University of Tulsa and is a pretty good defender. He was taken in the amateur draft by the Comets this last spring. I dont know if he intents on playing now.

I remeber him from high school, he was a pretty good forward.
