Does anyone know what the final resting place of the original Alan I. Rothenberg Trophy (1996-1998) is? Remember, the lava lamp that was hoisted after the first three MLS Cups?

My assumption is that it's either in the MLS offices in New York, it was given to D.C., or it's hidden in Sunil Gulati's tool shed.

    Any info would be appreciated.

I think the "original" Rothenburg trophy is in DC's office for their run in 96. I was under the impression that the trophy is not like the Stanley Cup, where the trophy itself is passed from team to team every year. I know that the Fire have a trophy in their office for their championship match.

They make a new trophy every year, so all of them are still posessed by the winners.

So they are using the same design as last year?
