Usually, that means both teams have at least 9 or 10 wins. The fact that the Silver-and-Blacked-Out are doing better (albeit barely) this season is really hard to stomach, and yesterday just made it worse.

If Eddie ran the team, yes. With Dr. Kev-york-ian, no. He needs to deliver soon or the team will be packing in the U-Hauls. :(

Jeff isn't doing well in Cleveland... TO would most likely get a ring before him and it could happen this year.

The Silver and Black won't get another title for a while, even with the outcasts they receive. Time for UberAlbert to step down.

and they play the Mighty Patriots on Monday Night!

I object to your invocation of a comparison between Dr. Kevorkian and John/Denise DeBartolo York. The former was merciful in his allowing terminally ill patients a quiet and peaceful end of life. The latter are merciless in their prolonged torture of niner fans and players with such terrible management of a once proud team.

I was alluding to Sunday's Letter to the Editor at sfgate/Comicle:

    http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2004/11/14/SPGJV9RD7V1.DTL

    York has buried the 49ers

Editor -- The death of a once-proud 49ers franchise is what Dr. John York has accomplished. In the eyes of 49er fans, he should change his name to Dr. Kevorkian.

What's even worse is that York doesn't even seem willing to sell the Niners - word has it that Larry Ellison inquired about purchasing the team, only to be rebuffed by York. :(

How ironic would it be if Jeff and Terrell faced each other in the Super Bowl this season? :D

I'd rather have Ellison buy the Quakes, and then the 49ers. He's got more than enough cash to build 2 stadiums. Then again, he'd rather be racing on a yacht chasing an award that only caters to the elite. :(

They gnawed at each other's throats a couple of weeks ago... TO has a better chance at winning at Jacksonville than Jeff right now...

And, I'll take Jeff's current squeeze thinking that, according to TO, he might have a better chance hanging out with Rob Halford than Nicolette Sheridan. :D

    Cheers!

Though, one of the other posters here thinks otherwise... Take that graziefan. EIIII8 rules!

Not a bad quacker, that, Erin. Quite familiar with that, since my dad (rest his soul) used to reside in Eugene.

Not as crazy as Daffy, but he'll do. :)

Re: With the Earthquakes' season over, which teams/sports are you currently watching?

Some odds and ends that I've been following over here in the last couple of days or so...

    • The USA v Jamaica WCQ, of course... [result]USA finishes Group 1 play unbeaten after a 1-1 draw in Columbus[/result]
    • The Australia vs Norway friendly in London, that ended 2-2 in yet another typical Socceroos collapse
    • And the first day of the first test in the all-ANZAC battle between Australia and New Zealand, at The Gabba in Brisbane.

In that last item, Australia held New Zealand to 7-250 at stumps on day one, with top bowlers Shane Warne and Jason Gillespie taking some key wickets.

This may seem hard to believe coming from English Guy, but, Shane Warne is one of my cricketing heroes. I am (used to be) a leggy, google bowler so I used to love watching him play (apart from when he was destroying England).

Apart from the US draw, England lost 1-0 to Spain in a friendly, that, according to reports doesn't sound very friendly :(

Well, I don't plan on watching the San Jose Stealth when their season starts, especially after I saw their print ad that was something like:

    San Jose Stealth
    ---- 25 Goals -----
    Definitely Not Soccer
