Much better and if he does not improve or regain his form, he will be coming off the bench. He is lucky he is still in MLS. If this was any other league, he would be playing with the practice squad. I know i am going to get jumped on for my comments. I hope i am wrong, i am praying to god that i am wrong abour Clint.

    Howard
    Jolley-Pope-Digi
    Williams-Ziadie
    Moore-Guevara-Clark
    Mathis-Moreno

I'd like to see that line-up personally.

that number 3 left back, is the teams weakest link now that Magee is out.

He was at fault for the LA goal, and many many errors, Leitch should not be on our team let alone the starting 11.
Mathis had a bad game. Howard was excelent saved us from loosing big time. The team played better then in the first game but they are to slow on the attack, forget counter attacking just horrible, no idea how to do it.
Nice surprise was John Wolyniec he played better then Clint, was strong on the ball, held it nice and just pleased with his performance.

Magee and Leitch should not start again.

You, soccerfan, are either BigSoccer's greatest wind-up ever, or it's biggest a-hole ever.

We all know Leitch should have headed the ball away instead of trying to trap it. And we know it led to LA's goal. Duh.

But for anyone to say, after one game, that Leitch should be released is beyond idiotic. Should LA release Ezra Hendrickson for taking down DiGiamarino in the box? Better than that, should LA have let Kevin Hartman go after he blew the MLS Cup for them in '99? You know nothing about Chris Leitch. You've seen him play one game. One.

And your credibility is nil, because you were ready to send Ricardo Clark to the A-League a week ago. You were also ready to release DiGiamarino. These were just two of the players "not ready to play first division" soccer, or whatever it was you said.

    If you're just a wind-up, bravo.

If not, you're just a fool.

    I'm thinking fool.....

On another note....Richie Williams is playing great in the first two games....although, I'm sure he is going to be destoyed up here after the first bad trap too....

with Guevera (sp?), I think we have enough interchangeable parts now in the midfield to compete every week and start to give teams different looks....Once the boys get the scoring touch down, I think we are going to be in real good shape.

VISTULA, YOU MUST BE MIXING UP GUYS HERE.
last week the only guy i said anything about is Mike Magee, there were others who mentioned Clark and DiGi but not me. I actualy thought DiGi had a good game and i had no oppinion of Clark.
You need to calm down and get the names right. I never speak what is not a fact. If i do i will be the first to admit and apologize.

Fact is that Leitch had a bad game for 90 minutes, everyone could make a mistake it is understandable but to play bad the whole game is not. You are welcome to give your own view and opinion but stop namecalling and the personal attacks.

Here's what you said, among other things:

"Metrogo you have every right to be upset and discouraged. I hear you man, and agree with you on the state of the team and its players especialy where you say they don't have a game plan and the new player especialy the rookies shouldn't even be playing . I am very very disappointed with Bob Bradley, was was he thinking when he recruted this kind of players. Mike Magee is not a soccer player, I know many like him, but he isn't cut out for outdoor soccer that is for sure. Is this the best we got from the draft ? The people behind me and around me were laughing at him each time he was touching the ball and messing up or falling over, i don't know what they were saying as i don't understand spanish, but they were not saying nice things I can asure you and they were right.
Bob Bradley must go, he needs to be fired now. I know what most of you going to say, but this is his crap team, not anyone elses fault but his alone. How could he assemble such a group of players and dare to have them in the starting line-up ? Those of you who do not agree with me clearly do not understand soccer."

So, seems pretty much a blanket indictment of all the rookies, no? You also try to make it sound like there is no reason the MetroStars should not be as good or better than teams like LA and Columbus right out of the gate this year, as if the coach was given a blank check to go out and get players.

Do a little MLS homework on things like the draft, the salary cap, etc. You really come off as a dope.

LA started. Hartman (with the team since '97), Hendrickson (with the team since '97), Califf (draft pick in 2000, the year OZ took Shak No. 1), Hong (discovery this year), Vagenas (2000 draft pick), Elliott (1999 draft pick), Victorine (2000 draft pick), Albright (trade), Cobi Jones (original allocation in '96), Ruiz (discovery last year). So, one player, Hong, who is new to the team this year.

Metro has Howard, Jolley, Mathis and Ziadie from the old regime...everyone else is new to the team. Were Califf, Victorine, Vagenas studs out of the box? Sheez.

FWIW, I believe that Hong is an allocation. My understanding is: LA got an allocation for the sale of Vanney to Bastia, they used that allocation (plus a lot of other cash was kicked in by a consortium of S.Korean businesses in the USA who wanted an ROK soccer star they could use for marketing purposes to sell their products/businesses in the US) so Hong was an allocation. I don't believe he was a discovery.

Also, with Guevara out this week, I would think Magee would still start on the frontline and Mathis would still start at midfield. I personally think that with the speed Columbus brings to the field, having Diagiamarino on the backline (rather than midfield) would be critical.

Oh JoeW please tell us what consortium kicked in the money to bring the ROCK star Sammy Hagar to Van Halen! Was it LHFA (Long Haired Freaks Anonymous)? Or maybe PETAG (People for the Ethical Treatment of Aging Rockers)?

This is from MLS Confidential: "According to a league source, MLS paid $200,000, the same price it offered when MLS deputy commissioner Ivan Gazidis traveled to South Korea to discuss a transfer two months ago. Negotiations broke down when Pohang Steelers, Hong's club team, refused to budge on its asking price.

The balance of the $820,000 fee demanded by Pohang Steelers was paid to Pohang by sponsors in South Korea eager to use Hong in their promotion and marketing plans."

If I wanted to know about Mr. Hong, I would ask on the Galaxy board. I want to know about Mr. Hagar. Thank you.

That's fine, I'll be the punk, jerk who pays attention to league rules and salary caps then and doesn't make ridiculous statements. And you can be the dope who gives us the idiotic commentary.

As long as we know our roles.
