2:1 Wisla in Rome, 1:1 in Krakow, Wisla advances. Lazio treats Wisla and UEFA cup matter-of-factly; and Wisla turns out to be much better than many give it credit. By the time Lazio awakens from the shock defeat at home, it's already too late to do anyhing about it. Besides, Kasperczak IS God, no?

    From uefa.com

    Prediction time
Finally, it remains to be seen whether former AS Roma player Zbigniew Boniek's prediction of a draw between S.S. Lazio and Wisla Kraków proves correct. Both sides are struggling with injury. Lazio's Dejan Stankovic has succumbed to a twisted ankle, while Stefano Fiore has a foot problem and could join Simone Inzaghi and Bernardo Corradi on the sidelines. Wisla, meanwhile, have a doubt against striker Maciej Zurawski who has a stomach strain.

tough to call not knowing if Zurawski will play. Without him I think they lose 1-0, with him 1-1 draw.

1-1 in the 39th minute. Uche ties it up after some strong build up and passing between he and Cantoro.

Lazio had scored against the run of play off a corner. Wisla has had the better of play but apparently has been having difficulties defending set plays

and just as quickly, they've given the lead back! 2-1 Lazio, Chiesa in the 45th minute off another free kick

holy crap!!! I can't believe what I just missed b/c of my crappy meeting at work :)

Wisla comes back to draw 3-3!!!!

2 penalties from Zurawski in the second half where from the commentary it looks like Wisla clearly had the run of play.

Wisla will not be too disappointed with the result and have much to play for in the return leg

I listened to the second half on Polish languge radio here in NY, and it really did seem like Wisla were the much better team in the second half. Over all, a very good result, but still I wish Wisla would have won. I wonder how Lazio will approach the remach in Krakow: either way, Wisla showed that they really are one of the better team in UEFA Cup, and , knowing Kasperczak, I doubt that they will play for a low scoring tie in Krakow. Seemed like a very good match for Strak and Uche, Zurawski was obviously bothered by his musce spasms, and I rarely heard Kosowski's name mentioned. This bodes very well for the team and shows that Wisla has more weapons than the opponents give them credit for.

a good result and a banner day for Polish soccer in the UEFA Cup

Oli scored two plus an assist

Dudek made some fine saves to allow Liverpool to hold on to a 1-0 result

can't wait till next week's games!!

i watched this last nite...Wisla is impressive. I also watched their ties vs Parma, and these guys impressed me then as well. Let's hope they close it out in Poland and send those fakes Lazio packing. Nothing would make me happier :D

Not sure what you mean by fakes....

But an impressive show by Wisla for sure. Lazio has a lot of work to do next week to win 1-0 or 2-1...
