I started this thread last week, didnt get much input.

Anybody (within the league) look interesting for the roster? Looks like we should have room. I'm thinking about a guy similar to Chung...Someone you would just love to have in a Rapids uni that seems out of reach.

A big forward to play with either Carrieri or Spencer, and a holding midfielder to replace el Pibe. Not sure who they are though.

I'd like to see a guy with tremendous potential coming off the bench. Not like any of our young guys, but a guy like Quaranta. I doubt any team would give up a player like that though.

A young goalie with a lot of potential. I'm not sure any of them are playing second fiddle in the league right now though.

What about Wolff or Razov, and the baggage they carry?

Given the state of our defense, I'd be happy to see Balboa or Vermes return to the team.

I think either would be great, but a little too much to hope for. More likely someone like Cchris Albright (yechhh).

The way I see it right now we have Carrieri and Spencer up top. I've been a fan and advocate of trying to get Dante Washington from Columbus. I don't expect that we'd get Buddle. That would give us a veteran to help out up top. If we could add a young player such as Eddie Johnson or some other player with potential then I'd like our forwards a whole lot better.

In midfield I'd like to see Beckerman get a lot more opportunity. If we can add an experienced midfielder from overseas then great. I prefer to be patient about finding that player. I'd rather not see yet another false start in this selection.

I'm hoping that a discovery will be made that will help out that back line. Someone young and healthy couldn't hurt.

I agree that beckerman needs more playing time. If he continues to get called up for under 23's he needs to play more. Also how many foreigners have the rapids brought in that haven't panned out? 3 that I can think of.

More than I care to think about. But off of the top of my head:

    Tote Casteneda
    Waldir
    Marquinho
    Junior Agogo
    Henry Zambrano
    That one guy from Trinidad
Daniel Amokachi (yes, he was a Rapid)

    That's 6.

This is perhaps where Grimandi may have his greatest effect on the team. For all the greatness that Valderrama may possess, I think that Beckerman (and any other young midfielder) would learn a lot more from the former Arsenal man.

Please please do not wish that fecking wanker Razov on the Rapids. He's too streaky, is a whining diving biznitch, and is a cheap shot loving bastard. Don't need that in Colorado.

    Cap space?

I have a question for you guys: with your roster now, what is your salary situation? Can someone here give estimates on the salaries of your players? Is your team under the cap and if so by how much (ballpark estimate)? can you afford a max salary player like Wolff? If so , I'm sure several team will be knocking onn your door as they are over the cap and the likes of Graziani, Wolff, El Zarco, etc may well find there way onto the waiver wire come January 3.

From the Rapids he went back to a club in Japan. Haven't heard anything since.

I don't know if I would consider him a bust, though....he had his moments.

I wouldn't say Dely Valdez was a bust.

He's been at Omiya Ardija for a while now and was in a good run of form after recovering from a broken leg he suffered while playing for Panama.

For reasons unbeknownst to me, he traveled back home while Ardija was still in a tournament. They did just fine without him, though....

    A Keeper.

Someone to fill the shoes of Garlick if he's hurt or goes into a slump.

That Johnny Walker kid in Chile seems to be doing well for Universidad Catolica.

Not sure how much cap room we have, but if Pibe goes, there will be a lot more. I would imagine we would have room for a max salary player. We have a lot of cheap defenders (sounds like my fantasy league team). Graz would be a great fit IMHO. Buddle would be nice, or EJ. Seems like the midfield is pretty deep, especially with Grimandi coming. I hope a quality striker is in the works.

You guys really need an up and coming number 10. Somebody who will fill El Pibe's shoes and actually run a bit as well. That and a third striker. Want Wolff?

Hopefully, Beckerman can fill that role.
