A couple of weeks ago, IK Start also signed 20-yo Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan. Annan came from Hearts of Oak and plays for the Ghana u-21 team.

Apparently coach Stig Inge Bjørnebye is still in Brasil looking for a striker and a left back.

I think the Norwegian media (and the club) may have gone a bit too far in their praise of this young Brazilian player.

Ygor is not the typical Brazilian technical type of player but is more of a tough hardworking defensive midfielder. Unlike some of the other Brazilians playing in Scandinavia, Ygor has never been selected for a Brazilian U20 or U17 WC squad to play at the big youth NT finals and he is also nowhere near getting selected for the Brazilian A-NT, but it is true that he has played many top-flight games for Vasco da Gama and also captained the side a few times of lately, though very much to the dislike of their supporters. This is infact the reason why he has been in a hurry to leave the club in this transfer window and why Start are able to get him fairly cheap.

I would still say that having this much top-flight experience from the Brazilian league at his age, then he must have been doing something right in a very good league, so all-in-all I'm quite sure he will be a perfect fit and an excellent signing for a Norwegian top-flight team.

    Hannes Sigurdsson to Viking

The 23-yo Icelandic Brøndby forward Hannes Sigurdsson has agreed to sign a contract with the Norwegian Tippeliga side Viking, where Sigurdsson also used to play (2002-2005) before moving to Stoke City in 2005 and then last year to a very short stay at Brøndby. Sigurdsson has won 5 caps and scored 1 goal for Iceland.

Rajko Lekic finished at OB Odense

After only a 6 month stay at OB Odense, the 25-yo striker Rajko Lekic has due to some disciplinary problems been told that he is no longer needed at the club. Lekic used to be topscorer for Silkeborg scoring 35 goals in 37 games for the club, before moving to the Spanish 2nd level side Xerez where he unfortunately got injured in his first season for the club. He then moved back to Denmark to sign with OB who according to a local Odense newspaper now are trying to help him find a new team in Norway or Sweden where the winter transfer window is still open.

    Olcay Senoglu to Trelleborgs FF

The Swedish Allsvenskan side Trelleborg have signed a 2-year contract with the almost 23-yo Turkish/Danish Olcay Senoglu who has just been released from his contract with the Danish Viasat Sport division (2nd level) Side Køge BK. The left-footed AM/F has won 9 caps for the Danish U19 and U20 NT's.

The Danish 2nd level side Køge BK keep losing some of their top players after the club was forced to declare a suspension of payments a few weeks back. Besides losing Olcay Senoglu to Trelleborg they have also lost their 30-yo key midfielder and topscorer Allan Nielsen to OB Odense, the 25-yo forward Dennis Bo Mortensen to the Icelandic top-flight side Valur, while the 22-yo former Brøndby and Danish U19 NT right back/midfielder Martin Arlofelt simply has left Køge BK to find another team. At the moment the right back/midfielder Kristoffer Wichmann (25) and central defender Morten Christensen (27) are both on trial with the Norwegian 2nd level side Sogndal IL. Køge BK was also deducted 3 points by the Danish FA.

Kwadwo "Kojo" Poku released from his contract

The danish superliga side FC Midtjylland have released the 21-yo Gahnian forward Kwadwo "Kojo" Poku from his contract so he can return to Ghana to get his career back on track. At the age of only 18 Poku was selected as the best African U23 NT player and in 2004 FCM managed to sign him from the Ghanian side King Faisal, in competition with Boavista, Metz and Hamburger SV. Last year Poku was one of the nominees selected by FIFA for the 'Best Young player Award' along with Barcelona's Lionel Messi, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. Unfortunately for Kwadwo Poku he was not able to settle in Denmark and was only used in 4 Superliga games (155 minutes) last season by FCM, and has not been used at all in the Danish Superliga this season ...

    - "Some [players] are good at handling the differences in culture and mentality between Africa and Europe. Others never manage to deal with this. Poku unfortunately belong to the last category. He never settled and was never really happy to be here. So we have said yes to letting Poku return home to Ghana in order for him to restart his career." FCM sporting director Jens Ørgaard said.

The young forward has been linked with a move to local club Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Jupp, but sadly that was practically the only match he performed in, and that was against Swedish 1st division amateurs that we LOST to. Still can't figure how that happened.

Anyway, best of luck to Migen in Sweden, he might feel more at home there.

He performed pretty well in many matches for Brann. He just never got thebreathing room there and for the minutes he played he did very well I think he still has the mostgoals per minute ratio in Norway. Hes on ok player and is very dangerous with the ball hopefully he proves himself in Sweden with his new team.

Fejzullahu is Swedish (because he has won caps at youth NT level for Sweden), but he is infact from Bosnia, though he is also ½ Albanian...

Fejzullahu was born in Mitrovica, Kosovo not Bosnia. He used to play on the same team with Jetullah Bahtiri and I remember pretty well. What happens with alot of Albanians from Kosovo is that they cannot go to another country and play without a passport they can have a Kosovo passport but it is not a country yet so it will not be recognized. Many times Serbia does not issue a passport very easely to Albanians from Kosovo so I am assuming he went to Bosnia to get a passport there in order to immigrate to sweden. It has happened to many players.

Strange that he think of himself as a Swedish/Bosnian then, and his big hero for the same reason is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. (This he has said himself) .. as I said then he is only ½ (Kosovo)Albanian, so he has roots in Bosnia as well.

Migen scored 1 goal in the league last season, and according to skbrann.org he got 19 league caps (seems more than what we saw of him on the pitch tbh), and that's just not good enough. Migen did have a lot of heart and gave his best in every tackle, but just didn't cope with the level to be the goalscorer we need.

What are u talking about?? Migen was the second highest scorer on Brann in 2006 and was used mostly as a sub. He scored 9 goals for Brann in 2006. He was actually one of ur best strikers. Heres the statistics from SK Brann official website. He just never got the chance there and he got in heated arguments with the coach and one of the main reasons he left for a very good amount of money to Gais.

Note that he had 1 goal in the league, the rest were either scored in cups or in training matches against lesser opponents, usually when our best strikers were rested. Don't read yourself blind on statistics.

He got himself sold for one basic reason; he wasn't good enough. I should know, I watched him in action in basically every game.
