Slow week so may as well get this started. Wilson is set to go on loan to Celtic in January. http://www.squawka.com/news/reports...ow-james-wilson-to-join-celtic-on-loan/489121 Also Valdes is lining up a move to Newcastle. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-replace-injured-tim-krul-at-st-a6692321.html
What would people think of a move for Marquinhos? They're saying he wants his agent to check clubs interest since he's tired of waiting behind David Luiz and Thiago Silva. He's not Varane or Laporte good but he's still only 21, I would have liked us to have gone for him a season ago.
Some rumours that we're interested in signing Perez from Newcastle in January. Would be a decent squad player, and probably the level of player we can get in January. I think someone will move for him before the season ends, as Newcastle is a broken team.
******** that we have all the squaddies we need. we must get a young cb with a very high ceiling and an absolute mega star winger. that's probably not going to happen in january, i'm cool with waiting for the summer. cb: varane, laporte, stones winger: bale, neymar, reus, griezmann those names might seem ridiculous to some but that's what it will take for united to compete for real.
We either need to promote wingers from the academy like Mitchell or start buying young wingers, Depay is not enough. Period. Rothwell is back from his loan maybe he can get involved, Lingard needs to be sold, he is not getting a sniff.
If we had a negative rep button? I don't think YOU want that. Yes. If we can't get Varane, or Laporte.
Not sure I'm sold on Marquinhos and it's not because of his abilities as a footballer but I'm not convinced about him being a Prem level CB from a physical standpoint. He's just 6'0-6'1 and it's not like he's the biggest guy either. He can also play at RB but we're already set there with Darmian, unless Van Gaal decides to give up on Shaw, move Darmian to the left and play Marquinhos as RB (where he's played before with PSG) Let's not forget that he'll surely cost an arm and a leg as well. I'd rather wait and go for the likes of Varane, Laporte or Stones than Marquinhos. Absolutely no doubt about it.
I think while he's not the biggest, he's pretty string and aggressive. He's also very quick for a CB. Definitely not my top choice, but I'd rather have him than all our other CBs bar Smalling.
Agree with the second part of the argument as the bar is not set really high anyway, but he might have looked strong and agressive in Italy and France but England and the Prem is a completely different animal in that department, we all know this. And what I have always wondered about him is why would PSG feel the need to break the bank for a CB like Luiz when they already had Marquinhos and Silva? And since David Luiz has joined PSG, Marquinhos only really played regularly on the right and they've gone and got Serge Aurier. All these factors are food for thought in my opinion, especially when we know he'd probably will cost an obscene amount of money (if what PSG has already refused for him is believed to be true)
In real life, I've only seem him in a couple CL games. The fact that he seems to have been a regular in Anderlecht's XI, is promising. In Fifa? Yeah, no doubt. Had to loan him out like 1.5 to 2 seasons, but after that, he was like an 85 and 18/19 years old.
