He can play on both wings, providing us with more formation variation possibilities if we choose to switch to a 4-3-3 next season. With him and a more efficient use of Hajrovic along the wing.
Sebastian Proedl announced that he will leave Werder this summer. Well, that is not surprising, his contract ends, he turned down contract offers and Werder reacted already in winter by signing Verstergaart.
Yeah in terms of central defenders we'll be alright for next season. Vestergaard has said that despite offers coming in from England he'll be staying with Werder. With another year of development he and Galvez will develop a stable defensive core chemistry. Lukimya has improved and is reliable as a rotation guy. And then promote Rehfeldt or Hüsing as additional depth if needed. Caldirola is likely gone but we should be able to generate around 3-4 mio from him. I'm also reading that Köln is also interested in Nils Petersen now. Freiburg already have the purchase option so they have first dibs. However, Köln will likely offer a higher bid since they need someone to immediately replace Ujah. Will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Union Berlin decided not to pick up on his purchase option, which was set at 1 mio. It's taking him a while to adjust to the 2.BL level, though he has currently scored in two consecutive games. His contract with us runs till 2017, so another season out on loan is likely.
