New England is releasing Winston Griffiths (Jamaican) to put Jason Moore on the roster. Could Griffiths provide depth to DC's left wing?? http://www.globe.com/dailyglobe2/104/sports/Moore_s_quotes_colorful+.shtml GM
The MLSNet roster page for NE does NOT list him as an SI: http://www.mlsnet.com/teams/ne/roster.html GM
I happen to like Jason Moore, but I don't imagine that being released to make room for him is much of an endorsement.
I've always viewed Winston Griffiths as sort of a faster version of Petter Villegas. In otherwords, some technical ability that occassionally entices but not particularly smart or complete play. Maybe fans of some of his other stops would offer other perspectives. But from what little I've seen and the comments I've heard, he doesn't "play well with others" (on the field). Besides, right now, I don't think our problem is coverage at left outside. Maybe later with possible USMNT call-ups. But I think our priority would be a D-mid or outside back. Adding Griffiths would probably mean cutting Alegria or Namoff (who, regardless of what you think of them as players), are playing key roles on defense b/c we're missing a bunch of bodies.
Not at all, actually. They're profiling famous boxing matches on HBO these days and did what was actually a nice job of the Holmes/Cooney fight. You date yourself a lot more with some of your music references.
I would think that if NE is sane and they think that Jason 'No' Moore is an improvement over Winston, then he's not worth the time/effort. I was happier the day that Moore was dealt than when Albright was dealt.
Anyone cut to make room for Jason Moore... no thanks. Currently, I'm enamored of the DT idea of playing Namoff at left wing for several games to see if he can handle it.
