I've said before that this is the winnowing out year, separating those who want to stay and fight for positions, from those who want "guaranteed" playing time. If Bogarde is really getting 40k a week, then by all means sell him. And good luck in the future.
i remember vialli bringing him in but i dont recall ever seeing him play. is he really that bad or has he done something to p*ss someone off?
I only ever saw him on the pitch once, away to the 'pool in a league cup tie. Suffice it to say he had a mare. It wasn't Vialli either that brought him in, in fact if i remember right Vialli was dead set against it.Hutchinson brought him in thinking that getting the ex champions league winner/current dutch international on a free was good business - thus the rather generous weekly pay. To be fair to Bogarde he was i a no win situation. Manager felt overruled with his coming and thus refused to pick him. Ranieri came in and for some reason thought little of him - when he did play he (3 games i think) he was woeful to say the least. However, what has been his biggest uncoming his his "i won't go attitude".
Yeah, I think he's got qualities that can help the team (good in the air, keeps it simple), but he wants to leave so let him. And thanks for "services rendered". To me he's been a very regular player -- a squad player -- but looking at his website, I think he lost it when he wasn't immediately issued a squad number at the beginning of this season.
