Barrios has a golden opportunity to finally get a good move. Manchester United should be breaking their neck trying to sign him, desperately need a DM

So many teams would love to have him. He should move as soon as he can.

he is only 31.... still a dark horse to make the WC if whoever he pissed off to get off the team finally forgives him.

    thought he was way older.

I never had an issue with Barrios. I was surprised he was frozen out of the 22-26 cycle.

Reminds me of Guarin being frozen by Pekerman during the 14 cycle only to play during the most important games of the 14WC - which still baffles me to this day.

Barrios was given chances and just did not impress. In his last match against Uruguay he looked really frantic and horrible when pressured.

Guarin did decently each time he was called. It is a bit different of a "freeze".

I have a decent memory and I don’t recall Barrios having a performance where all of us were like “I hope I never see him play again”.
He was never a threat to score and I was fine with that.

Just about everyone has had their share of WTF moments and they still get called back - as much as I liked him, how many chances did Uribe get before he got eventually cancelled?

I am just saying, his last match was horrible as was Alzate's. They have not been called up again since their horrible games. We have better players and younger players that have either come in and performed better or have potential to play better than Barrios.
So it should not be a mystery as to why he is not on the team. Guarin was a bit different and more mysterious.

In general I think his career was a waste. After Boca he went to Russia and the big bucks and that's ok but he should've move to a bigger league and club after a year or two. I do think that our pool is not big as Brazil and he deserved to be called, I don't know why Lorenzo ignored him. I highly doubt he'll get called to 2026. As a DM, one of the best I've seen in Colombia.

So weird that he hasn't featured under Lorenzo. Could envision him playing alongside Rios easy in a pinch. He's always been so consistent.

in some ways Barrios making the 55-list is like a band handed compliment. If good enough to make this list, why didn’t you (Nestor) call him up from time to time the past few years.

a few people here recall Barrios had a certain “bad game” but who hasn’t had a “bad game” the past 4 years.

It was a really bad game. Just could not do anything against Uruguay’s high press.

Look Barrios was solid for us before Lorenzo. We all know this. When Nestor took over he called him up a few times and obviously did not think he was good enough for his system or style of the team.

People love Barrios and I understand why. He was a great warrior for us. That said, going after the money in Russia instead of trying to battle it out in a better league is something people like to avoid talking about.

I remember he scored a wonder goal as a sub in one of Lorenzo's first matches too!
