Kenneth Williams finally opened his account for Kathmandu Club on May 7. Linescore from rsssf.com: Code: [May 7] Friends Club 3-1 Kathmandu Club [Rishi Rai 26, 71, Ramesh Byanjankar 54pen; Kenneth Williams 69] Kathmandu Club are currently in last place after 6 matches, with 3 points. Part of the problem is apparently having one of the worst defenses in the league. Maybe they want Wallace Jackson back at this point?
Yes... the last-place team in a 13-team first division is relegated. Incidentally, I just looked at the lists of teams in the top three divisions in Nepal, and there's a "King Kong Sports Club" in the 3rd division. If we're going to start a club in Nepal, it's reassuring to know that it won't be the most amusingly named one...
Kathmandu Club lost 4-3 to Boys Union Club on the last day of the season and were relegated. They needed to win to stay up. Kathmandu Club dominated possession and led 3-1 at the 54th minute, but Boys Union Club scored in the 65th and 86th minutes to equalize, and got the winner in stoppage time. Two photos of Kenneth Williams fromt the match. Overall, incredibly bad luck for Kathmandu Club during the season. In their previous match, against Ranipokhari Corner Team, they also dominated but put several shots into the crossbar and lost 2-0. More details on Williams' goal earlier in the season: it was a header off a corner kick. He had another goal disallowed in the same match, and according to one neutral observer should have drawn several penalty kicks as he was repeatedly dragged down in the box.
