No. A bad season sealed his fate. He should fit into KCs style of play quit well. However, as a person, I wish him luck, except when playing the Quakes!
Yeah, he seems like a great guy. But miss him as a player? Not sure. Too bad about all those yellow/red cards. It's hard to help when you're suspended.
I'll miss him. Always sad to see a Clasher go. Goodbye Jimmy -- try to keep your hair well-groomed. "I had a contract offer from the San Jose Clash and the LA Galaxy. Ha. I couldn't believe it. My choice was easy." -- Jimmy Conrad
South Park, Missouri Nick Garcia and Jimmy Conrad, members of the Red Card Club... As a person, always funny to hang out with and great with the columns... As per, when he comes in for opening day, he gets the cheer first, then we boo him since he wears the jersey of the other team. "Spongebob Squarepants" will be duly missed!
I won't miss his playing abilities, but he did seem to be a lively character. I'll never forget that time he rocked Cobi Jones on the sideline in that late September match (the game which robbed us both of Mulrooney and a desperately needed point.)
I'll miss his entusiasm and that certain unquantifiable something he gave...I'll certainly miss the cnnsi.com columns from a Quake player... However, I'll certainly rest easier about having crazy yellows..esp with him and Zak both gone... It will be interesting to see the first challenge on Landon at the opener in April!! -Richard
First NBC cancels "Newsradio" so I can't see Jimmy James any more. Then my office stops buying Slim Jims for the snack room. Now Jimmy Conrad is gone. The tragedy continues. (crying) No!! Jimmy!! Don't go, Jimmy!!
While it is sad to see Jimmy go, not all is lost - the team's name is still 'Earthquakes', after all.       GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Albany: From www.sjearthquakes.com "Prior to the second round, the Quakes acquired the 13th overall pick from the Kansas City Wizards in exchange for defender Jimmy Conrad. With that selection, the Quakes tabbed Arturo Alvarez, a member of the United States Under-18 National Team, whose parents hail from El Salvador. The 17-year old forward is a Project-40 player and will not count on the Quakes senior roster. In 2002, he led the Under-18 team in scoring with seven goals. San Jose also received a conditional 2004 SuperDraft pick from the Wizards in the deal."
I smell a new Casbah chant! Seriously, though, given Jimmy's penchant for reckless yellow and red card offenses, you could never count on his being available to play week in and week out. Hopefully we'll plug someone in to be more steady and disciplined.
Back in the Azizi glory days of the Earthquakes, Jimmy and Azizi were like brothers. He had a pic of Jackie Chan and Azizi on top his locker right next to eachother. He was by far one of the funniest guys that i know and i sure as hell will miss him. I know hes never going to forget all of the bad werds that me and Azizi taught him, so everything is gonna be gewd. Take care koslis
Why did we make this trade? We dumped him for a 2nd round pick. Conrad was a servicable back up and occaisional starter who surely a very small effect on the salary cap.
Proffessionally: I'll miss his spunk Personally: He doesn't strike me as a mid-western type, on the bright side, he'll be able to afford a really nice house in or about KC.
And in addition to the affordable housing... ...they got some crazy little women there and he's gonna get him some... (At least, that's how the old song goes. Is he married?)
