It's rare enough to get television coverage of high school basketball in America, I doubt the U-17s will be broadcast on any network in any language in the States.
FSW carried the one in 1999. They could easily do this one with in-studio commentating. Or, if Sky Sports carries it, use their feed like they do for so much of their programming.
If that's the case then, no, there will be no English language coverage. Having said the negative side, the positive is that Gala/Uni/Telefutura have a history of showing *every* game when they carry a tournament. Gentlemen - start your Tivos!
I seem to recall back in January that supposedly Galavision would be carrying the tournament (and maybe another channell or two under the Univision Umbrella) when it was to be in the U.A.E. So it's true that Univision is still retaining and will carry it via Galavision (and maybe another channel like Telefutura)?
The event that was to be held in UAE is the U-20 Championship, which will be played late Nov/early Dec in UAE.
Thanks for the correction, I hate to say it, but I'm more excited about the U-17 tournament. Good to hear that both may be aired on the tv though. Right now I've only got some short snippets of Adu, and would like complete game film of him. That would be really nice.
ESPN might agree with you here. No matter what people at BigSoccer say, they are great at covering sports stories people want to know about, and a 14 year old wunderkind who has a 1 Million Dollar contract with Nike probably would draw America's attention
Ah, yes, that would be nice... High quality video feed from Galavision/Univision + high-quality English-language Internet audio feed (with no-Ty/Jack commentary) from Eurosport = much goodness ESPN, thank you for playing.
