Well, going to answer my own question there, can't see it really. Main reasons being Stephen Graham's strong scouse accent might be inpenetrable to most americans, as Joe Gilgun's oldham accent will aswell. Plus, the whole 80's english nostalgia thing (my mum also bought me a pair of monkey boots instead of dm's) will be alien to most americans. Pity, as we get hundreds of films about american life over here which have about as much in common with my life as my life has with a penguin's.
I saw this one @ the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC last month. Quite good. Yeah, it'll get some sort of release here. IFC Films was an investor and holds the rights here.
Any word on when this will hit the streets Stateside (and it will though I'm sure release will be limited)?
According to this, July 25 it will be released in the US and of course a "limited engagement" http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809423293/info
Saw it on TV yesterday, its on "On Demand" the IFC. Not a bad movie. But nothing really new here. If you were a skinhead, rude boy, or mod in the Eighties its a sort of trip down memory lane.
It opened in DC this weekend. I'd hoped to get to see it, but various scheduling conflicts made it a no-go for me. I hope it will be around for more than a week.
