Well They had it on their schedule but when I checked the site today it was gone. Does anyone know if it will be televised? To be honest with you I wish RTPi would get their act together they are a joke. You never know when anything will be on or if it will be on at all, Does anyone know anything about this?
I also noticed they had it on their schedule, and now it doesn't appear there. What the hell is going on?
It probably has more to do with licensing than with RTP. They probably were informed that someone owns the rights and therefore they cannot air it in the US.
My understanding was that an agreement between RTP and Oliveira’s media company, who own the rights to the seleccao broadcasts, was agreed upon last month. I expect to see the game on RTP, but I feel your frustration with the RTP website. It’s off….it’s on….it’s off again.
According to this article, an agreement is in place, and RTP can show (which probably means that it will show) the game this Saturday and next Wednesday. http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/futb/...669&mf_club=0&num_jog=0&p_sondagem=0&p_voto=0
This makes me nervous because it has happened so many times before. But as of today it is back on the RTPi web site.
This is ridiculous. Does it mean the U.S. dictates what RTPi can should worldwide? As everyone knows, RTPi is NOT only broadcast into the U.S. (via Dish Network and cable). It's also available in Latin America (DirecTV Latin America, Sky, C-band), Canada (C-band), Asia and Oceania. Just because someone else owns the rights in the U.S. means no one can watch it in Australia? If someone else owns the rights in the U.S. (I doubt that's the case, as SPT and Setanta do not own the Seleccao's rights), then they should blackout the game on Dish Network and all cable systems that carry RTPi, instead of telling RTPi to take it off the schedule.
Good point. Although regarding SPT, they carried the Portugal - England friendly last month, RTPi did not, at least in the US.
It will be on RTPI, the game is at 4pm ET........everybody just enjoy the game and stop complaining. We're gonna kick some Tunisian A*s.....
As of right now it is showing at 4:00PM EASTERN on RTPi. Or at least until they changed there minds 1 hour before the game.
yup..........and it stayed that way.........1 pm in vancouver..... Game ended in a 1-1 tie.........portugal scored first on a goal bye pauleta tunisia tied it onthe 43 minute(i think) Portugal dominated second half but missed allthere chances..........typical portuguese.....
This Sunday will be Porto vs Benfica on RTPi it's on Sunday at 19:00. I believe on Saturday evening they will Replay the Boavista and Brage game.
