The reason I ask this is if England or any Home nation is ever going to win the World Cup or European Championship we gonna have improve in PK shootouts record. We don't seem able to possess the skills to break down solid defenses or the ability to win at PK shootouts, its almost becoming a cliche now get to pass the first round of international competition and the first half decent team we face we lost to them . So I am going to pose a few of questions.

Why do you think England and now Team GB lose at PK shootouts is it bad luck, poor technique, poor perpetration or a combination?

Does anyone think England will win an important PK shootout in the future?

I didn't think the penalties again Korea were that bad. Italy and Holland have had similar jinxes and broke them.

I'd say poor technique, although I do think it is something we are getting better at. A good penalty is one that a keeper is unlikely to save even if he guesses the right way.

I think we also need to look at how our goalkeepers prepare, as we never seem to get anywhere near them.
