This comment proves to me you have no clue. My continued harping on Liga MX winning CL before a club from another CONCACAF nation winning CCL isn't a dig of any sort. It's a compliment to the quality of Liga MX and that I think they can win the CL. If there is a "subtle dig" in my thoughts it's against the rest of CONCACAF, including MLS.
RSL is still struggling, and the West Conference has become a tight race... LA's offense is firing on all cylinders, and only 3 points separates 5th from 1rst. DC still on top in the East. Looking forward to see what these MLS teams can do in this years CCL. Current Standings West: Galaxy: 2nd | GD 11 | 34 PTS (How will Gerrard and Dos Santos mesh with the rest of the team?) Whitecaps: 3rd | GD 3 | 33 PTS (They have a well rounded offense with Rivero leading the way) Sounders: 5th | GD 5 | 32 PTS (Will Dempsey continue his form from the GC?) Real Salt Lake: 7th | GD -5 | 26 PTS Current Standings East: DC United: 1rst | GD 4 | 35 PTS (They have veteran attackers like Rolfe(31), Arrieta(32) & Espindola(30)... can they all stay fit during the tourney?)
Is the first decade over with the recent Club America title? Isn't this year 2015-16 the 10th year? Anyways, I don't need to say it, you all know who is taking the trophy this (next) year 2015-16. tip: Yellow and Blue.... and No!!! is not Club America!
Seriously? C'mon man! We are talking about real teams! jk jk But nope, is not the Galaxy FC and its overrated new Diva. Its a team that outclassed, destroyed, dominated, and mopped the floor with one of the best clubs of the world, a 2x Copa Libertadores and CWC champions. Note to all those excuse lovers MLS fans: This team is in "actual" pre-season, not first week, not second week. They have to yet play their first offical Liga MX game. But yet, outclassed a very good team in mid-season form.
Deportivo Saprissa won it in 2005. The first decade of Mexico's streak is complete: 1. 2005-2006 2. 2006-2007 3. 2007-2008 4. 2008-2009 5. 2009-2010 6. 2010-2011 7. 20111-2012 8. 2012-2013 9. 2013-2014 10. 2014-2015
America bookends with a Pachuca sandwich... America Pachuca "" Atlante Pachuca Mountking "" "" Blue Cross America 10 years, but only 5 teams won it. Pretty interesting considering 100s of teams are eligible.
To compare, the last 10 UEFA Champions Leagues have had 7 winners, with Barcelona winning 4 times and 6 clubs winning once. The last 10 Copa Libertadores have had 9 winners, with Internacional winning twice and 8 clubs winning once.
I'm not sure about teams in other leagues - my impression was America is struggling right now, and Belieze is going to get a rep so we won't have 3 Costa Rica teams, that's about all I know - but at least in terms of MLS I do not have my hopes up for them helping making this CCL good to watch. RSL has struggled all season, LA has new pieces that might not gel well right off the bat, DC has a bad habit of giving up goals early and just bash out results, and Seattle is in free fall. At least Vancouver will likely pick up Seattle's slack, but I don't anticipate any of MLS's games to be particularly high-quality (and group C will likely laugh Verdes out of the CCL). So no, I don't think this will be the best CCL ever. The knockout stage might turn out being fun, but the group stage will likely be painful.
Well Tigres is comin with their best team ever probably. The Ferrari.....is the Ferrari. The all time top 3 goalscorers are in this edition. And Queretaro has the great King Midas leading them., ......San Francisco played well last night...... deserved more. so we´ll see.
Scratch that! The top 4 all time goalscorers are in this edition. Emanuel Villa passed Dario Carreño, Aldo de Nigris, and Chupete Suazo last night with his 5 goals!! Hes at 17 now.
