I just dont see where he fits into this squad. I think hes a great player, and exactly what we need. A holding midfielder who can also create and move forward. I think he would be a great partnership with Diarra.

That being said, I dont think Capello will put Diarra or Emerson on the bench. So will Gago just be a benchwarmer for the rest of the season? I dont think its wise to play him instead of Robinho/Reyes/Raul....

See! I knew it wasn't safe to assume in the other thread that since we had two players starting as DMs that meant we were not looking for another one.

It is utter stupidity to assume that a young Argentinian will just jump to the starting eleven of one of the biggest European clubs! Diarra and Emerson are first choice, Gago the third option to fill in. We'll ease him in and will probably replace Emerson. I don't think Emerson will be staying with us after this season.

I would like us to get Gago. He'll give us options for this year and will be a step forward in the long run. :)

I think he'll most likely be the first back up for all off Guti/Emerson/Diarra from what i hear ( i havent seen much ) hes good at moving the ball up and assissting goals.

Thats why I am asking if anyone thinks he will get any playing time. Personally I think hes just as good as both Diarra and Emerson, but hes better moving forward than both of them, so I would like to see him in the starting lineup. Fat chance in hell that will happen though..

I think he'll probably come on as a sub in a lot of matches this season but seeing that Emerson is unlikely to be here next season Gago is here for the future development.

he will.. I think he could be a replacement for emerson.. even better than emerson.. I've seen his video once in youtube.. and he resembles redondo a lot.. he brings the ball forward..

He'll be the first choice DM/CM when either Emerson or Diarra get injured, suspended, need rest etc .. And thats' not bad for a 20 yr. old who hasn't played in ay European competition yet and is from a different league ..

That's the point... he hasn't played in Europe at all.

Overall Emerson & Diarra are still better for the team this season. I speculate he would start to really break into the team halfway on his second season with us. :)
