Wigan are fighting for their lives now, but the Hammers are playing well, so this will be a tough game.

We have a good record aginst Wigan and this is a game that we can win. Hopes on Europe depend on this sort of fixture and we have a few like this coming up.

The team? Your guess is as good as mine. Bellamey? Faubert? We'll see, but I cannot see any major changes.

No predictions from me, but I do fancy our chances. If we win, we will really be in the Europe hunt. COYI :D

Could go either way as jerk Lawro has predicted a draw.

I quote from his summing up' "Curbishley has done a decent job".
A Hole with a capital A. I think, considering the circumstances, that Curbs has done an incredible job.

Is it on the telly in the states?
Oh and whats with the meeja coverage. It seems we never 'win' games, or 'beat' teams, they lose points or miss chances. Curbs, who i think is doing great, is 'competent'. We've got the best keeper in the country who doesnt even make the England squad. Why are we always damned with faint praise? Its really starting to piss me off:mad:

The game';)s on tape delay on FSC at 1.30 PST on Saturday; I don't know about anyone else, but I can't wait 4-6 hours for the result!!!!
My fear about the game is that we tend to play down to the weaker teams, and rise to the occasion with the better ones! Still, if Bellamy, Solano, and Ashton are in the team, I think we can really get a strong result.

The only team that has beaten us who are below us in the league is Newcastle.

Stomper: Don't worry about it mate. We are creeping up on the 4th-7th place in a quiet, unnoticed manner. If February goes as we hope, then we will be in the shake up during March.

Les. I think they might get to sit on the bench, but I think Curbs will start with his 4-5-1. If the goals come, they tend to come from midfield. It makes the defence very solid though.

:) I'm sure we'll be fine once we're inside the ground, I've got my winter thermals at the ready though!

We've sold our 5000 away allocation so should be a good atmosphere down the Hammers end!

Well, Pompey are at home to Grant-maintained Chelsea, and Blackburn are home to Everton.

    8 Blackburn 38pts
    9 Portsmouth 37pts
    10 West Ham 36pts

I can easily see both of them dropping points with us picking up all three. Bernard Cribbins has hardly set the world alight since he took over the pie eating, under supported whingers. With no one near us below, we could move to 8th with a game in hand over every team under us.

Liverpool should get a result at home to the Mackems but these days who can tell? If Chelsea win the League Cup against Spurms, that gives 8th a European position doesn't it? Particularly if one of the top seven also go on to win the FA Cup or perchance a European trophy.

Whatever happens, just being able to make that kind of speculation after last season is a measure of how things are moving.

We've done really well up at Wigan every time we've played them but we all know what could happen. Win against Liverpool and then lose against Wigan. It's the West Ham way! ;)

Man city are down by a goal to the Gunners.:D

Looking at the fixtures, we could really be in the mix after the weekend. If they go our way, of course.

Attacking formation today. With Ashton in to partner Cole and Bowyer back on the bench with Bellers. Faubert not risked. Good idea in the conditions we are likely to face at JJB.

To answer my own question, Setanta extra are showing West Ham at 10 am (1500 GMT) on channel 670. Strangely we seem to be playing Birmingham

Now listening. I can hear the crowd. Have Wigan bought any fans to the game?
