Wider fields. Ever watch a San Jose home game? Painful. I always hope for two red cards.

KC, Metro, (formerly Tampa), Chicago, Revs all suffer from too narrow fields. Open up the fields and see the passing game flourish and skill players have space.

I believe the die hard soccer fans will never enjoy seeing a San Jose home game. The same may be true in some other stadiums too.

i'm going to have to say that there are probably fields of all shapes and sizes for professional leagues throughout the world... and we can't be the only league with fields less than 70 yards wide

i kinda like having different sized fields... it can possibly provide another element for a team to build around...

    Width again

    J-

I agree with your point. It is nice to have differences. Clubs will therefore adapt personnel and styles to their home field, which means we don't have to see a uniform style. National league baseball in the early 90's was like this. Many teams had a concrete doughnut stadium, with symmetric dimensions and astroturf. They all played the same style.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have too many fields over 68 yds. On a 110 yd field, every ten yards of width gives an extra 1100 sq yards of space. I like watching Costa Rica play home games, because they have an attacking style that flows nicely on Saprissa's 75+ yd wide field. I am a fan of larger fields. The US game suffers from football dimensions too often.

if mls ever moves a franchise (could be san jose, kc, chicago or metros) they should defenitely move it to one of those new nfl stadiums with fifa dimesions

mls should consider quality of play and make it a priority (wider field increases quality of play)\

houston and seattle are 2 new nfl stadiums with fifa dimensions. Any others?

If you think MLS fields are bad, you should see some of the youth fields the kids play on. Yikes. No wonder we have trouble producing skilled players.
