Why did the Quakes have to trade Jimmy? I think that he was the funniest guy on the whole team. He brought a lot to the field as well. I am going to miss him. Luckily, the Quakes play Kansas City four times.
He was the funniest guy, also one of the smartest and a real human being. However, in pro sports, those considerations of ours have little merit. I think Frank likes Jimmy, too, but that he has to look for a defender with greater consistency.
Because how funny you are doesn't matter when your on the field. Except for if your Mike Burns or have a name like Duncan Oughton.
He wasn't a consistent starter in 2001, and he played less in 2002. He made a lot of stupid fouls that earned him yellows and suspensions, hurting the team. I thought he did a little better in the central back spot in 2002 than at the right back spot, but he played well in so few games that he had to be moved on in order to bring in a better prospect who'd be more consistent.
