What exactly would be the point? They are nothing more than the Black Wing of the Democratic Party, and their sole mission for the last four years has been to call him a bigot. The hysterical accusations they make against him are way beyond the pale, absurd on their face and personally insulting. ARMSTRONG WILLIAMS says it all: on the eve of the 2000 election, the NAACP ran an ad in which the daughter of James Byrd Jr., murdered in a 1998 hate crime in Texas, said that Bush's refusal to sign hate-crime legislation while he was governor of Texas was like watching her father die "all over again." The ad featured a horrifying image of a truck with a chain dangling behind it. The not so subtle message: Bush is indifferent to race-based crime. For obvious reasons, the ad did not mention that Byrd's attackers were found guilty and sentenced to death.
Hey JC Watts already made the correct point that all crimes are hate crimes. Why should a crime be given an extra harsher punishment simply because of the color of the victims skin? And I thought the far left believes in rehabilitating the criminal - what, so now they are all in favor of harsh punishments if the crime is based on race? All I know is that the next time I rob somebody i am gonna make sure it's a white male because I definately don't want to be accused of being a racist law breaker, I just want to be known as a law breaker period. But hey we've already been told that if you think independantly of the NAACP or Rainbow/Push and your skin is dark (i.e. Armstrong Williams, Ward Connerly, Clarence Thomas, etc) then you aren't actually welcomed in thier club, so I guess if some redneck racist idiot kills Condaleeza Rice it wouldn't be a hate crime since Connie isn't a "real black person".
