Since all wars are exactly the same, and since WW II is the only relevant historical analogy for anything, I ask you...is the left hypocritical because there were no protests in early December, 1941, against FDR's declaration of war?
There were a few people who did speak out against it. Mostly intellectual types. I did a paper in college on WW2 literture and yes there were anti-war writings.
were they anti war or more related to a continued "isolationist/blissfull ignorance" deal that alot of "thinkers" were famous for back then?
After Pearl Harbor was bombed???? Wow. I thought that the only people against the war were pacifists, and that even they didn't try to agitate to persuade others. Hunh. I guess even when you start a thread to mock a sockpuppet who is shallow even by sockpuppet standards, you can learn something.
I would say that the fact that we didn't enter the War until 1941 says alot about how the US would have protested if we went to war in 1939. A better analogy might be that there were no protests against an OBL war. Pearl Harbor galvanized this country.
Plus he promised he's not a sockpuppet!!! I mean, if you can't trust a poster on an internet message board, whom can you trust?!?!?! :crushed:
congratulations for ignoring the fact that if he were on board with your delightful "view of the world" you wouldn't give a swamping shite.
Not true, Irish. If they weren't wiped out in the last crash, you can search my posts for "Sardinia." I gave him alot of crap until he explained how he came to bigsoccer.
that's better. i just appreciate it when someone is given a chance rather than guilty until proven innocent.
Ok ive known irish since our freshman year of high school. since then weve become very close friends. weve always talked about politics, but it was always just messing around. then irish fell in love with soccer a while ago, and i guess he joined here. he told me to join because this place was swimming with liberals and it would be fun.so i joined.thats how i got here. through a friend i hope that isnt too hard to believe.
