I think that letting USL teams in the USOC was a mistake. I miss how it was all MLS and how my team could power through. But this year they could not thanks to the ********** USL teams. I'd like to thank whoever decided on letting the MLS teams look like sh@t thanks to the USL teams who powered through. Sincerly, A very pissed off FIRE Fan
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Poor little Chicago Fire supporter. Your team stinks this season and you lost to a USL side in the US Open Cup. Deal with it little man.
You are kidding my right? This post has to be a joke. Why would they let a USL team into the US OPEN CUP? HMM let me think... OH YEAH! Because it is an open tourament that any team can play in as long as they qualify. Its like the FA Cup. To quote Albert Einstein "There are only two things that are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."
If nothing else, I, too, find humor in this thread and in the fact that an MLS team supporter is exhibiting fear and loathing of the USL.
put rolfe in the usl and then you'll see happiness and liking from me for ur shit league. but since he's a fire player i don't really care and laugh all you want. i don't care
What's even worse is that this thread is somehow one of the main threads on the front page of BigSoccer.
This thread is stupid, no doubt about it. Nobody told the Fire and the other MLS-eliminated teams to play like dog crap in this. But I do have to admit I hate the fact the MLS pre-narrowed their fleet to 8 for this tournament. I would have rather seen all 12 teams in it from their usual starting point. That could partially explain the absence of MLS teams this late in the tournament. Of course, the big reason why is they just aren't playing hard enough in this tournament. In some ways, not participating at all would be better then the display they are doing right now. But of course I would prefer that the MLS teams take this more seriously.
You guys obviously missed the sarcasm. The better question at this point is: What's the point of the US Open Cup? If the winner doesn't get anything and MLS clubs don't take it seriously, then its the US equivalent of the Vans Trophy. What trophy? Exactly. I see an MLS pulling out of the US Open Cup in the next 3 years. DC probably should have done it this year with the Concacaf Champions Cup, Superliga, and Copa Sudamericana to worry about. Do you think DC players care one bit they lost to Harrisburg? I doubt it.
I would beg to differ... Just like Colorado was acting real pleased to be eliminated last night. I am surprised there weren't more players sent off. Oh that's right, Herc and Pablo were subbed out.
