i know it might sound dumb
but why not make Tab Ramos the new coach of the Metros. i mean the guy does know more about soccer than Oz did and ever will know
and he always tried to give everything he had for the Metros even when his body wouldnt cooperate with him
anyway who else is out there ? i say get rid of all of Oz's guys and start new
Tab might surprise us all if we gave him a shot

There's nothing I'd like to see more than Tab coaching of the Metros and evenutally the US Nats. But I also think it's too soon for him to start coaching.
IMHO, if the US Soccer Federation is trying to develop young players, it should start encouraging new coaches. Since he's still on the Metro front office payroll, I say let him assist the new coach!
Do you mean reconsiders his retirement from playing? Hell, if I were on this team this past season, I'd retire too.

He'll get injured and spend the whole season in rehab. We need a coach who can stay healthy.

    Two points:

I haven't heard Tab talk about really wanting to be a coach, ever. If he doesn't want to do it, he's not a good candidate.

He has minimal coaching experience. The Metrostars should be one of the top jobs in this country, given the potential of the team and the market. Let him get experience in youth, college, or minor league coaching, to prepare for the big league challenge.

What makes people think that Tab would be a good coach? His lack of character or personality, surely his affable persona, or maybe his forceful and demanding spirit???

Tab was a good player, a great player for some parts of his career but don't read anything else into it. A great career does not a coach make, he lacks the backbone and grit neccessary to be a good coach. He is not forceful or commanding in any way, and thats what this team needs right now.

I could just see him walking off the field with 10 miutes to go at half disgusted with the calls or team play and just leave. Nick then would be making up injury excuses before realizing he's not a player anymore.

  8. I think he would be like Magic Johnson. He would get frustrated and quit.

yes i hope tab plays longer...and i agree about the season...if i were davis i might want to quit

  10. If it weren't the Metro, I'd love to see Tab in a coaching position. Tab Ramos is to team chemistry as cold water is to hot grease. The notion of him trying to keep his cool and effectively manage players and their egos is amusing. Talk about kharma.

  11. he would probably lead the league in red cards from the bench.
