''IS RONALDINHO OVERRATED'' or ''IS HENRY OVERRATED''.? No disrespect to those players but i am still wondering where those guys dissappeard who were claiming Riquelme to be overrated. Riquelme was shut down by Arsenal defence and many were arguing him to be over-hyped player. now, where are you all when Ronaldinho was shut down by Arsenal while he was with better teammates than Riquelme has in Villarreal? Henry missed two big chances to score and barely made any impact in that game, is he overrated, too?
...because it would be lame, just like the Riquelme thread was lame. Maybe BS posters are getting wiser.
No he didn't. Ronaldinho had quite possibly the worst game I've seen him play in ages. Neither he nor Henry were particularly good.
Really? Henry fed the pass for Arsenal's lone. Ronaldinho fed the pass for the game changing event. Other than that they both played poorly.
I was impressed by both. Both were well defended and still could have done more. Ronaldinho was all over the field trying to get open, and when he was I kept thinking how did he get that open. He also made the pass to Eto'o that got Lehmann redcarded. His free kicks never amounted to much. Henry, missed on several chances, but even though double and triple teamed, he kept getting past the defence. Both showed some awesome moves.
I'm not denying that he was poor but he was still better than Henry. Ronaldinho was always there trying to make things happen and it resulted in some rather cynical challenges to stop him. While we didn't see his usual tricks, he still played his part in a different role than usual. Aside from a few runs down the flank, Henry did not a lot. You can blame that on the bunker system Wenger employed but it doesn't change the fact that Henry was poor.
Neither had a good game. Still Henry put a nice FK right onto Sol's (albeit big) forehead, and had a few chances, some decently taken and others not. For most of the game, TH was getting his ankles kicked. Lets also remember that this was the CL final, and neither team would have been anywhere close without those guys.
Barcelona's coach decided to put Ronaldinho in the middle of Campbell and Toure (for most of the game). Not a wise move. Henry was always attacking against 3 defenders. That's hard too. Both still managed to play a part in this game. Many great players would have done nothing.
Jesus Christ. Henry carved out three clear chances all by himself and provided the delivery for the Arsenal goal while playing on his own up top while Arsenal were down a man. While he should have finished his chances better, Ronaldinho had a terrible game. His shots were completely wayward, his free kicks were never on target and he was limited to trying to win free kicks (often times dubious). Having a bad game doesn't make you a bad player. And Henry didn't have a terrible one.
Of course, once you are the best at something, it is pretty much inevitable that you will be overrated at some point.
Ronaldoinho had an off game but played fairly well. Henry besides the 2nd half missed-goal was superb. His assist on the Campbell goal was stuff of legend.
Henry had a better game and I thought Ronaldinho seemed alot more under pressure then Henry with Arsenal getting the goal early in the game. He was trying really hard to make things happen and i think that played a big role in his mistakes.
