Seriously, they have tons of $$$$ and that is the best that they can come up with. Check out 'Pool and Arsenal's and tell me you are not disappointed. It is sad that independent sites are better than official one. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks, Patrick
It may be crap compared to others, however, the Match Tracker & game audio are still free as compared to others who charge for these services.
They really screwed up with their redesign. They have too large of an empty space on the home page just to get too large a picture of a player in. The white text on the red background is difficult to read.
Yup, that's all I really want from them. I didn't have any problem ordering the new jersey from their online store either.
I think the new website is more creative (just a little), but that's about it. To tell the truth I liked the old one much better. One of the more creative ideas that they first had but is now dropped is changing the color scheme of the webpage to the kit United will play with in the next game. But obviously that doesn't work well this season whenever there's an away game. For the normal away kit, a black and white website, how pretty. As for the 3rd blue kit which they now wear all the time, it just feels strange to come to the Red's webpage and all you see is blue. The next match in x days y minutes z seconds feature is nice but I don't think that needs to take up half of the front page. Looks like a lot of space is wasted there. As to the menus, the pull down menus are nice, but i've already complained about this to manutd.com, they are sluggish and i've seen much better designs. And here's a list of all the things in the old site which are now lacking in the new one: - a full fixture list that has fixtures in *every competition*. Now they separated the league games and European games. - the polls are now lacking the total number of voters. It's nice to know how many people have voted for a particular poll, and i remember i used to race to be the first 50 voters or so right after a match right when they post the poll. - the match tracker is nice, but not as good as the old one. In this design all the text is at the very right end of the screen and it hurts your head after a while staring at the extreme edge of the monitor for 45 minutes. Also, i don't know if you remember but they used to have a radio button to select Live or Text. For live mode, all the live action will come in by itself. For text mode, they will temporary not update the most recent action and it's useful for instance if you come on in the middle of the game and need to catch up on earlier action. Right now, you're reading something and all of a sudden something happens and you lose where you were. As to the Reuters scrolling news, I don't know about you, but I've never used it (i prefer going to soccernet) and i'm not sure if it's all that useful. Finally, something I appreciate in the new site: the what's new for today section. Before that had that, it was pretty difficult and confusing if you're trying to find an article, for example. The new section certainly helps. So that's my threepence on the new design. Feel free to dicuss more.
Why couldn't they just take a page from Arsenal and Liverpool? Their sites are reletively the same....good and offer lots of things for the fans. Very interactive. Take care, Patrick
