Why in the h..l do they play the Intercontinental cup in Japan.
How many South American soccer fans are they going to have over there?

Just imagine how many fans would go to watch AC Milan-Boca Juniors if they played it anywhere between Canada and the South Pole.

Instead they play that crap in Japan and people have to watch the game at 4:00-6:00am and if people want to go and watch their team play, they have to spend their whole life savings.

I imagine somebody in Japan threw out the most money on the table, and at that exact momeny it was decided that it should be in Japan.

How many AC Milan fans would wind up at La Bombonada?

How many Boca fans would be at San Siro?

    Neutral site is fairest methinks.

Something to do with Toyota since it's called Toyota Intercontinental Cup. Time for some giant US company to take over the cup. I'm sure we'll sell-out.

in the old days it was played home and away (europe and in south america)

the reason it was moved is because the games were so heated (fan violence etc) so the organizers decided to move the games to a calm place where there would be no violence (hence japan with its peaceful culture)

    Pearl Harbor?
    the death marches of POWs?

    Yep, peaceful culture :)

Correct. They also chose Japan because it was exactly halfway in between Europe and South America. Japan was also the only country in that region capable of organizing such a big game.

peaceful sports culture? Yes. They were great during the World Cup. Very friendly and they helped prevent the hools from taking over. Very good job. :)

    in your map!

but on a plane I took Milan 12 hrs and the jet lag!

from argentina was 32 hrs....plus he lay over in los angeles (waited 8hrs)

HALF WAY? What we need is Toyota or chivas USA owner -mr Vergara- to provide his red carpeted jet to take the suramericans directly to tokyo next yr.

If they wanted to have this game somewhere in between Europe and South America, they should have it in Africa, the Caribbean, the Canary Islands, US, or even Spain.

I think that a trip to Japan is just ridiculous.

    Japan = Toyota's house...

unless The Lion King is willing to pay for them to play in Africa, I can't see that happening...:(

see what happened was that Bianchi missplaced my cell number..silly Bianchi, and didn't call me, so I figured they had the plane all worked out. I would have given them my personal jet, instead The Victoria Secret models borrowed it for a shoot they had to do in Australia, and came to my house afterwards and we partied...Silly Bianchi..:p

This final must be the biggest event for Toyota executives. You just know these federations followed the money, the wine and dine, all the way to Tokyo.

If you think about the event, held for many years now, this could have been a showcase event to help land the last world cup.
