Why is attendance for Juventus home games so low?

Blame it on their ugly stadio. Would you wanna pay hard-earned money to watch a game through binoculars? Cuz that's what you'll have to do if you end up attending a game at Delle Empty.

Plus it's not like Juve plays the most exciting football unlike a certain Milan team (hint: their colors aren't black and red)... :D

Oh its exciting football. My bad i just thought it was a bunch of great players underperforming and never winning a trophy.

But if thats what floats your boat, excite away.
i believe its Canzano who has a quote of Ancelotti.

If Cruyff wants to be entertained, let him go to the cinema. (something to that effect, some of us fans want to win something and be entertained but firstly comes winning to me and i would think most sensible fans but hey Nerazzurri rejoice in mid table right?

Hint: Juve is the only side yet to drop points in Serie A, unlike a certian Milan side.

They are suprisingly not as bad looking as they may sound. I certainly wouldn't buy one (not a realy juve fan though) but not terrible.

Juve should move to a town that appreciates them. :D

Hint: Check the result of the Juve-Palermo match.

Either way, still top of the table, lousy attendance or not.

When Man U played Maccabi Haifa a couple of seasons ago, they sold out.

Besides, why should the opposition be of consequence? Doesn't a dedicated fan want to see their team whoever the opposition is?

In the English Premiership, Man United and Arsenal sell out whoever the opposition is. Arsenal don't generally get a higher gate against Tottenham (their traditional 'enemy') and a lower one against Bolton or West Bromwich (two so-called 'smaller clubs').

That's great for ManUre, but to be honest I really don't care.

England and Italy are two different countries, with two different attitudes towards matches.

Maybe it's just Juve's fans that have such an 'attitude'. The Milan clubs get 60,000 for champions league games.

Manchester United are a phenonmen when it comes to attendence, they have had to revuild OT a few times to pack more fans in.

As others have said I think once the stadium is redesigned it will bring more fans in. Also remember it was maccabi haifi that played. And how much do CL games cost? If i was a juve fan in Turin, I'd save my money for Bayern or Ajax. Those games are going to be the deciders for the group.

Just a question for you English fans, as I don't know and I am curious.
What are the ticket prices for a Man United game (average price). I know when I was in Torino a few years about the ticket prices were relatively high for Juve games compared to most other clubs in Italy and that could be another reason? Not saying that it is the only reason but could partially be the reason?

    Yeah maybe

Let's see, Milan has over 1.7 million people while Turin has a population of almost 1 million.

Milan drew 50,000 fans to see them play Celtic yesterday, Juve played Celtic in the CL and drew just over 40,000 fans. Not too shabby.

Milan's population has been in a steady decline within the past 20 years.

Italy these days has the lowest birth rate on Earth. The population is really only remaining somewhat steady because of the tremendous influx of foreigners. In 20 years our demographics are going to be a lot different.

With the prospect of young Italian men living at home well into their 30s, I can understand why ....

What do you think this is..an American sports organization? Only American sports teams move when they have no fans. Juve moving out of Torino would be crazy and stupid? This is European soccer...Not MLS, MLB,NBA, NFL

The state of the economy doesnt exaclty help matters much. Most people I know barely even make E 1000 a month and cant afford to move out even if they wanted to. Combine that with sluggish real estate, and most people dont really have much of a choice.

This is a real surprise! I know most of the EU nations are facing some economic problems, but not that much. At least you are Europeans, and not South Americans, and don't work for the pharmaceuticals - Vioxx troubles is the last thing I wanted to handle about.

The transition to the Euro has been particularly traumatic for Italy thanks to our wonderful govt who does such a great job of closely monitoring the economy and making sure everybody plays by the rules. In essence, the transition has been difficult due to the exchange rate which the Euro has been officially given vis-a-vis the Lira. 1 Euro = 1000 Lire, where the more natural rate was more in the neighborhood of 2000 Lira, since after all, $1 was roughly = to 2000 Lira and about 1 Euro. What does this mean in a nutshell? Many things suddently cost twice as much, and most people's salaries have not been compensated for this increase. Yeah, the Euro sucks. Or more precisely, the Italian govt's job in overlooking the transition really sucks.
