Why even bother with the All-Star game?

Other than the fact that it's a game that's supposed to be on ABC, why even bother if Real is in fact out?

I know it's not the league's fault that Real crashed and may or may not be backing out, depending on what source you read, but in the grand scheme of things, if there wasn't an All-Star game, would you be that heartbroken?

It's May 30th. The All-Star game is two months away, and there's no set format, opponent, and the date got moved. Like I said, I know it's not MLS's fault, but this looks extremely bush league. It's an exhibition game, pure and simple. Why bring in a second-tier team to play that people won't be excited about? They should cancel the ship, give the players the weekend off, especially the national teamers who are going to have friendlies and qualifiers this summer who would've ended up being called into the ASG in the first place.

I say junk it and start planning for next year...and get the contract signed earlier.

    Flame away at me people.

I think we should just cancel it and replace with either AC Milan or USWNT olympic team.

    Good ol' USA
either East VS. West or cancel the ******** out..... Give the guys a weekend off, as a sign of mid season.

Its MLS All-Star Game NOT MLS All-Stars with Real Madrid.

    Pigs Eye (St. Paul),
I'd rather have an extra week of games. Maybe have it in Florida before the season starts or something. If the players need a break stagger them for each team. Two off per week for 5 weeks, or cut back on midweek games.
