MU are going to have a lot more fans in the US after winning title then coming to tour here. Why doesn't Arsenal come here as well? I'm sure AW would say there are too many games already but MU is also made up of practically all national players but they tour routinely and still win titles. Do you think they would sell out like MU will. I would love to see them come here to Boston. Wouldn't an MU/Arsenal tour be awesome? That way neither one would have the risk of losing to an MLS team. As a side note, everyone at the MLS Cup were saying MU were coming to Boston but they chose Philadelphia (of course along with an automatic Meadowlands stop) for the 2nd east coast stop. Why? They don't even have an MLS team nor do they have a soccer history like Boston. Even as a Gunner fan I would like to see them. I still might drive down to New Jersey to see it.
I'm sure they will after in the future. I imagine the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Juventus will knocking on Charie Stillitano's door pretty soon, too. I'm sure Wenger didn't mind the extra matches during the Arse's tour of Asia recently. Big Euro time, like big time Euro clubs, complain about any extra matches, unless they getting paid rather well. Probably not as quick. MU has a little more name recognition in the States. Not saying they wouldn't, but it would take a little more work from Champions World. For the Euro-snobs and people willing to get their wallets raped to watch two clubs half-filled with their starters try not to get injured? Sure. Are you trolling?
Yeah follow Spurs example! Seriously though I am sick of clubs coming here and playing other European clubs. They could at least have a little respect for domestic footy. And they went to Philly because it is a new stadium.
I am only a Spurs fan because of Kasey Keller.... But they have the right idea! It only benefits football! And Americans spend good $! Merchandising baby!
While it is good to have an EPL team (Sp*rs) come to RFK tomorrow I would much rather see the Gooners. Now that would be sweet!
barcelona might be pulling out of the tournament in the US as they want to play in the Inter Toto Cup..... maybe Arsenal can fill in for them?
hell have more Euro teams play in the US. I'll root against Tottenham anyday. Too bad Man U is not playing near Chicago. I'd go see them and root for the other team.
Self interest here but I would think an Arsenal vs Galaxy match would do well at the new stadium. It would sell out. Perhaps a 3 city tour in a couple of years for Arsenal to the soccer specific stadiums here would work well.. Columbus, Dallas and LA..Good promotion for MLS too. The other cities will have to wait 'til they build one! Maybe we'll hear something in 60-90 days.
That's the truth. And to be honest, if I were Nike I'd act the same way. Align yourself with one of the two biggest clubs in the world, or with a club that's not even one of the biggest two in England? Easy choice. Now, Arsenal should tell Nike exactly where to shove it and go seek a partnership with a different kit manufacturer. Wasn't Umbro dumped by ManUre in favor of Nike? How about them? I'm a huge Nike fan, although their latest efforts have been very poor, but I'm a bigger Arsenal fan, and I don't want to be aligned with a company that's giving it a half-ass effort.
Re: Re: Why don't the Gunners tour the US Now I can't stand Nike, and tell my Highbury pals every time I visit. Adidas is a possibility because I don't think it has a London club anymore (didn't Fulham dump them?) Besides, Umbro linked with Chelscum.
