Detroit is already expirienced allmost everything possible last season and still got to the 7th game against the Spurs.Despite the coaching change Detroit still has the same starting line-up the past 2 years.
Duncan. League MVP for a reason. Ginobili. Should have been Finals MVP. Parker. Blazing speed, nice teardrop shot. Bowen. Stopper. Mohammed. Works hard without the ball. Barry. Great 3-point shot. Horry. Everyone knows why. Popovich. Instills a team-first attitude.
Hey, you asked me why you thought my team was going to win and I gave you the best reason I could think of.
Do you actually think they got a chance? No disrespect to the Bobcats, but they are on their 2nd year and not title contenders.BTW not all winners in the collegiate level are winners in the NBA level: ie;C.Laettner.
Like I said, you were the one who asked me. Personally, I don't think they're going to win but you asked me to come up with a reason. Also, my team understands tongue in cheek - that's why they're winners.
My team, NJ Nets will WIN the Championship IF: -Carter plays like he did 2nd half of season without getting injured -Marc Jackson suddenly plays like Tim Duncan because of Kidd -Jefferson plays like he did before he got injured last season -Kidd plays like Kidd (getting wins) -Krstic.....err......gets 15pg 9rb -If we get Brian Grant and he averages 11rb for us -Antonie Wright (rookie) scores at least 10pg in 20 min or something -Bench player like Mclnnis, Uncle Cliff, Mercer, Vaughn contributes -Finally, Jason Collins........................... I expect nothing from him..................
The Wizards might be better this season, but I don't know if much more than last year's result (second round of the playoffs) is realistic. If the team can get reliable contributions from Jarvis Hayes, who seems to have fallen off the radar, and maybe some emergency minutes at the 3 or 4 from the rookie Blatche, they could surprise. But the championship? Nah. Not as long as the Heat and Pistons are what they are.
Why? Because in the words of Mason, "Welcome da ballas, representin' the Detroit Pistons! It's time for some DEE-Troit basketball!"
Continuing with Skip's reasoning... The Celts will win because of Paul Pierce. The ownership will tell Paul that if he scores 30 ppg and has 7 assists and 7 boards this year, they'll trade him to the Spurs and he can go on and complete a dynasty with Big Tim. But realistically, the Celts aren't going anywhere and Paul's going to stop giving a damn by January.
Because Baron Davis was on 'The Shoes' (only know that because it was on before the US-T+T game)? Because Dunleavy is getting an extension? If the Warriors make the playoffs it will be wonderful, but even that might be too much. Tony
