Actually most americans have three names, some even four! It's just that we choose to use only two of our names, primarily our First name and our family name. But if you go to the far south, there are people there with names like William Ray Joseph Gordon. Then a new name will be formed off that, such as hicks calling him Billy Ray Gordon, or if he lives in the Ghetto, Billy Ray J-Go.

Many noted americans like Mr. T, J-Lo and Gary Coleman only go by one name (with the minor exception of Gary Coleman)

To quote Steve Martin on the Oscars last night: "That was the lovely Jennifer Lopez, or, as the kids call her, J-Pez."

    Typical Man U fan.

I earlier had a thread that questioned the use of one name in soccer, it was the basis of so much trolling I decided it would be fun to see how many boy-geniuses would keep on with this thread. So far this is the smartest website in the universe, obviously.

Why not just go with an initial.

many americans go by single nicknames. often these are ironic names. such as calling a fat guy "slim", a big guy "tiny", a smart guy "brazilian asking dumb question". you know, that sort of thing.
