Whenever Pro/Rel or shootouts come up on these boards, the post " I like cheese" soon follows. Why has this particular statement acquired the same meaning as "Lord, not this again."?
According to my 1958 Encyclopedia Americana, "Cheese is the most nutritious foodstuff available, except perhaps butter. It promotes vigor, health and well-being and is a vital part of any diet." I hope the answer is clear now.
Here's the real story ... Back in the day Michael Mejido used to troll the DC United board. Often times his posts were imaginative and funny and we let them slide. Occasionally they went too far and we deleted them. Sometimes they were just idiotic. Well one day MeridianFC stumbled across one of Mejido's posts and it was just idiotic. His reply to the post: I like cheese. I like cheese soon became part of the culture on the DC United board. Whenever something idiotic got posted propriety directed us all to reply with some variation on the theme of cheese liking. Eventually this custom spread across many of the boards at BigSoccer.com. But I like cheese doesn't quite mean not this again - or, at least, it doesn't mean just that. If you get I like cheesed it means your post was idiotic, not worth responding to, let's kill this thread as soon as possible, and, indeed, let me help with that destruction by posting this non sequitur.
Lies, all lies!! Don't believe a word of this Halliburton/Ashcroft/FoxNews/Limbaugh/Wolfowitz propaganda!!!! TELL THIS MAN THE TRUTH! The reference to cheese is actually a plot to subvert soccer fans, to turn them away from the noble sport known worldwide as football, and to subliminally create a market for the coming corporate-owned and dominated sport of the new millenium: CHEESE RACING
I wonder if Meridian got that from the college bball boards at CNN/SI, or the college bball boards at CNN/SI got that from Meridian. Cuz we used to do the EXACT same thing. At ACCboards.com, they had the best defense against trolls ever. I'm 90% sure the Maryland fans started it. You troll on the Terp forum, and the Terp fans would all reply "pledge." As in, I pledge to ignore this troll.
And God bless us all, everyone. Thanks for the info. Oh, and those were the droids I was looking for, weren't they?
For the lactose intolerant, products like OatsCremeTM provide a dairy-free, lactose-free, great-tasting alternative to ice cream, milk and other dairy-based foods. They like to say "I like OatsCreme".
So... how will this be employed when Chivas USA comes into the fray? Will their fans sing out after goals, "You like Goat's Creme?"
Goats cheese sauce can be delightful on beef tenderloins. I will be cooking this tonight with asparagus and some red wine. The wife and I will be celebrating the new year with a movie. So if it leads to sex, I give credit to the cheese. Ahhh, the power of cheese!
