    I ordered three cd's.

    1) The Music
    2) Richard Ashcroft - Human Conditions
    3) The Wonderstuff - "Singles, if the Beatles had read Hunter"

Well they said the Wonderstuff was in Stock, and upon release of the other two (Tuesday, the 25th) they would ship.

Well apparently some shipping wizard noticed they didn't have the Wonderstuff in stock, and they didn't bother to tell me. Jacknuts!

    So I replied.

    ---------

    Damien,

Thank you for the reply. I have to tell you, this is unacceptable as that was the one cd you reportedly had in stock. If it wasn't in stock I would not have ordered it as I was anxiously awaiting the release of The Music and Richard Ashcroft. I saw the Music last night in concert and it was difficult to appreciate the songs as I didn't know them.

I could see if there was a problem with one of the two new cd's, but to say something is in stock and then for it not to be is not the way a company like Amazon.com should operate. I know you understand what I am saying, but like I said in my earlier email - Cdnow.com never had this happen, normally I would have gotten those cd's on the day they were released - in my mail box.

I don't know how you normally handle complaints, but I'm very unhappy with the service and I expect something to be done to remedy the situation. I would suggest upgrading the shipping to overnight or at worst 2-day shipping.

Have any of you had a similar experience with the money sucking bastards?

Good point, but I don't mind supporting the musicians.

Amazon hasn't replied to my email.

    They suck.

They don't know the power of bs.com

I don't believe its full fury has been even close to released yet. After Iraq, the word is that Bush is going to disarm BS.

BigSoccer a world power since 2001.

    Hello from Amazon.com.

I am sorry to hear that you have not received this item yet.

We've joined forces with CD Now to operate an online store powered by
Amazon.com's e-commerce platform. The site features the full
selection of books, music, videos, DVDs, and video games available at
    Amazon.com.

I've passed your message on to the appropriate people in our company
for consideration. We truly value this kind of feedback, as it helps
us continue to improve our store and provide better service to our
    customers.

Further, I have checked into your order and found that you may have
already received an e-mail message from us about this order. We are
sorry to report that there has been an unexpected delay in
obtaining "Singles-If the Beatles Had Rea [IMPORT]."

I apologize that you were not notified sooner of this change in
availability and for the frustration this continued delay causes.

Please note that we will not charge you for this item until we ship
it to you. On the date of shipment, we will send you an e-mail
confirming the date, contents, and tracking number for your shipment.

Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com.

    Support your local Indie store.

Besides having a huge Wonderstff & Miles Hunt section, take a look at how cool my local is:
    http://www.vvinyl.com

Free AC/DC tix, 5 cool instore concerts coming up...
    and they do mail order.

Haven't seen a local Indie store, and your store doesn't have what I want.

    Thanks.

I hate that Amazon.com took over CDNow, which had a much easier to use interface that provided a lot more information about bands you are searching for.

panic, have you tried to edit your order? I haven't had reason to investigate this since Amazon took over, but CDNow used to have a way to check your existing orders and designate them to split in case one CD was delayed (due to a future release date or out of stock). This had happened to me several times, and I also found it frustrating that a multi-disc order would be held up because of one CD's availability status. Their software should be smart enough to split the orders automatically. On the downside, I think if you split orders you had to pay shipping twice.

If they had told me that the Wonderstuff wasn't in stock, I wouldn't have ordered it - plain and simple.

The split ship was a thought, but the better thought was "We have it in stock, really we do" and ship it Monday.

From Delaware to CT should be 1 day, maybe 2 at most - but one day is norm.

The gist of it is - Amazon sucks giant.

okay got the two cd's today, only Wonderstuff is left to see.

They gave me a credit of $2.48 after they realized they were going to ship it on the 27th, but held it till the 1st.

I complained some more, and they are now giving me a credit for the entire shipping on the order.
They still suck, but this is less sucking than before.

if you want independent, but with a lot of selection, you can use the big local store here.

    http://www.earx-tacy.com/

note: I can't vouch for the quality of their internet order service, as I have never used it. Their selection is really good, though.

Recommend them highly. Would have saved a few dollars if I had to buy the Music there.

You know what? I'm not so sure about ear-x-tacy's 'online store'. It doesn't look like it's actually searching the store's inventory.
