Why a game during mother's day???????

What's the problem JLG? My wife once specifically requested going to an MLS game for her Mother's Day present.

 

My mom is going to the game so I don't agree w/ you Juan... Are you asking the same thing of the NHL and NBA...they have games on Mother's Day too... you should bring the BBQ and mom to the game...

 

If I'm not mistaken, the NBA even has a game on Christmas Day. Also, my son's league (the Northern Counties Soccer Association) has lots of games scheduled on Mother's Day. Take your mother to the game Juan Luis.

i'm a mom and am going to the game with my kids. there's no way i'd want to miss juan pablo's official coming out party! i'm feeling guilty for missing my kids' soccer games, but not so much so that i'm staying home.

Many years ago, the Cosmos played on Father's Day. IIRC, that was their first huge crowd ever at GS, about 60,000! The game may have been promoted as a good Father's Day gift!

Sorry, but the idea of all sunday games being canceled for mother's day of all things, is incredibly stupid. Maybe it's just me.

SECAUCUS, NJ -- New Jersey's elite high school soccer talent will converge at Giants Stadium on Sunday, May 13, as the New York Red Bulls host the inaugural Red Bulls High School Cup. This showdown will follow the Red Bulls' match against the Colorado Rapids at 3 PM and will pit the finest high school players from North and South Jersey against each other.

Nominated by the media, these high school graduating seniors will represent their respective regions and battle for the ultimate state bragging rights.

The weekend will include a practice session, an exclusive meet-and-greet with select Red Bulls players and coaches, and an honorary reception for participants. The All-Star Weekend will conclude on Sunday night, when the North and South New Jersey All-Stars will play immediately following the Red Bulls' match against the Rapids on the field at Giants Stadium.

The match is sanctioned by the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association and will follow all rules and regulations set forth by the NJSIAA.

Someone had to play today it just happens to be us and lets not kid ourselves Mother's Day is a sham Hallmark Holiday anyway its not like the club is asking you to come out on Christmas Morning.

The stars aligned for me on this game. The last few yrs i know it was played on Sat and we had to miss due to daughters dance recital. Also, the kids' travel soccer games have been xl'd due to over booking the fields. So I'm gloating because this Mom can make this game guilt free!

Looking forward to watching JPA play with the boys!
