First preseason match for the Irons, to take place in Sweden.

Some background info on our opponents:

Hmmm.... I believe Umea's women's side won UEFA last year or maybe the year before. Why I think I know that I have no idea, one of those odd bits you pick from here and there I imagine. Anyhow, their men should provide a nice sparring partner for the boys.

Speaking of our boys, any guesses as who will be the starting 11?

    My guess?

    Bywater
    Noble-Dailly-Repka-Brevett
Ethers-Carrick-Lomas-Reo Speedwagon (okay, someone had to say it, unfortunately it was me)
    Harewood-Zamora

Not very adventurous and I imagine Pards will line it up completely different but figured I'd throw it out there. I'm very curious to see where Noble, Jobi, and Cohen fit into our plans as well as Garcia. I have something of a hunch about him this year but not sure why.

Is Anton Ferdinand out? I would figure him in there somewhere.

I would like to see Cohen getting a lot of time in these three games, see what he can do.

KO time is 2 pm (est). Not sure if there is a way to follow it online, there was none last year. Will look when I get out of the seminar I have to go to today.

Hmmm... I'll have a go at it. I used to "read" Aftonbladet when I was following Hammarby in the Allsvenskan.

According to KUMB, the starting 11 is ...

West Ham United: Walker, Ferdinand, Dailly, Repka, Brevett, McAnuff, Carrick, Nowland, Cohen, Zamora, Sofiane.

Subs not used: Ward, Etherington, Reo Coker, Harewood, Noble.

Zamora is off to a hot start, albeit preseason and against lesser quality, he already has two goals.

Nice to see him off to a flying start. BTW No match-tracker on the Umea site although I did see something of a mention of a 4-0 scoreline in their recent stories so I'm curious to know if Bobby's 2 may have become more. Guess we'll just have to stay tuned to KUMB.

A swedish hammer in the Kumb forum said he was forced to retake the penalty twice after scoring because players in the box, then missed on the third. Says he scored the third goal so a hat trick then for Bobby.

What are the early opinions on Walker, Reo-Coker, McAnuff, Nowland, Cohen, and Sofiane?

Glad to see Soffiane back. Maybe he's going to replace Connolly and show some of that French skill that Roeder liked so much.
