Remember, no answer is wrong, because this is your starting 11.

    Ooooh, this is fun.

    Game 1

    Lagos...Corrales...Mulrooney...Russell
    Dunivant...Agoos...Robinson...Waibel
    ...................Conway

    Game 2
    ..............Ching...Mullan
    Alvarez...Ekelund...Mulrooney...Russell
    Dunivant...Agoos...Robinson...Roner
    ...................Conway

    Game 3
    ............Alvarez...Donovan
    Corrales...Mulrooney...Ekelund...Mullan
    Dunivant...Dayak...Robinson...Waibel

I just tossed these out there. I didn't look at what competition they would have. I mixed it up, trying to take into account the evaluation of trial players, integration of the newer team members, getting experience in new/different positions and building the most important element for the team, cohesion.

Donovan's as close to a "plug-and-play" option as we have. I'd be wary of putting Mulrooney and Ekelund right into the lineup without at least a few more training sessions...maybe not right away, but slowly integrate them back into the lineup as the competition continues.

I think that Dayak needs to retire. He really does nothing for us. He is too old and is no talented.

I've seen a lot of DeRo references in this thread...he's not ready to play yet, is he?

No, he's not. He was still on crutches last Sunday. So I'm certain he won't be playing.

Hell, you just didn't want to leave anyone out!

Now that Barclay is gone, there's no one that I absolutely DON'T want to see in the lineup.

DeRo wasn't projected to be ready until just before the start of the season. He's a tourist for this trip.

I was not posting a lineup for the Japanese Manga cup, but the best lineup for next season.

Donovan and Mullan up top, Lagos on the left-mid, Russell on the right-mid, Ekelund at O-mid and Mulrooney at D-mid, Dayak on the right-back, Corrales on the left-back and Robinson and Agoos in the central-D. Conway in net.

Dayak needs to retire!! Are you crazy???? He is the backbone of our defense. We started losing after he got injured last year. And you say he lacks talent and is old, who the heck are you watching???? He never gets beat. He can really turn on the jets when he needs to, not to mention that he is the earthquakes most steady player. His love of the game is shown every game and he always seem to be able to light a spark in the team when they are down. You really need to get glasses. Just watch and see this year and you will be eating your words!!!!!!

Alright, so up there is where I was a couple weeks ago.

    Now I'm looking more like:
    --------------------Conway-----------------
    Dayak----Robinson---Agoos---Dunivant
    -------------Ekelund------Corrales------------
    ---Mulroony---------------------Alvarez------
    ------------Donovan-----DeRosario------------

    Mullan
    Ching
    Lagos
    Waibel
    Russell
    Roner

I don't know how Dunivant is looking or how to best utilize LD. Roner and Russell are wildcards. Someone unexpected may have a breakout year. But when you look at the lineup from here, it's a good mix of youth, experience and athleticism. I think this team has a chance.

It looks really solid up the middle, and really dangerous on the wings. The one thing we seem to be missing is a forward who's dangerous in the air. (Is that Ching's job?)
