its almost transfer market time..whos stock is up and whos is down on the usmnt?

    Up
    Bradley (lower/midlevel epl team?)
    Dempsey(maybe a bid from arsenal)
    Donovan(will MLS let him go?)
Jozy(this is a weird one cause i don't think villareal will get their money back but i think he showed he can play as a target man and will increase interest which may put him in a better situation.
Bornstein-i can't believe im saying this..was not a fan but he played 2 solid matches..some1 had to notice
benny-changed the game whenever he came on

    down
clark-has a team so its not going to hurt him in the transfer market
gooch-do acmilan look for a loan deal for him?

With respect to Bornstein...somebody has noticed. It's been reported he may finalize a deal with Atlante. Could do alot worse than playing soccer for a living in Cancun...

I think jozy stock has went down. His play in the world cup confirmed all the negatives about him at Hull. For a striker, he has not scored goals. End of story.

I think that Findley stock went down, not that it ever was high. He showed that he can't finish. No team outside of the MLS will take a chance on a striker that can't finish. Bradley, Dempsey, Donovan, Feilhaber, Edu, Bornstein, Cherundolo, Demerit and Bocanegra's stocks went up. Gooch, Clark and Findley's went down and Howard, Jozy, Buddle, Gomez and Torres did not really change.

everyone DOWN except Dempsey and M Bradley . Even Howard gave up some soft goals. We need at least 9 better players if we want to move UP to another level. Otherwise will be stuck at this level for many many WC's to come

Altidore did not improve his stock. If anything, it's gone down. He didn't deliver on anything, and did not play like the star he supposedly is.

    Also,
    Up: Demerit

Down: Cherundolo and Bocanegra, showed they have slowed since 2006

    I think Clark's pretty even.

yup. You need to realize this before you can improve. That is why England will make to the quarters every time and mexico to the round of 16 every time and no more.

Like Rickey Bobby says: either you're first or last. :) I want to prepare to be the best.

completely agree on this assessment..cherundolo isnt going anywhere. would love to see dempsey at a arsenal/liverpool (but if its a tradeoff i would rather have him get regular minutes at fulham than ride the bench),bradley should be in the epl or a higher level bundesliga team..both leagues fit his style, Landon failed in the bundesliga and had success in the epl..would like to see him back in the epl but i think maybe italy or spain would be a better destination for him with his style.

    Bradley (way up)
    Donovan
    Dempsey
Bornstein (to be fair it was pretty low at the start)
    Feilhaber
    Edu

    Down:
    Altidore
    Howard

    Way Down:
    Clark
    Onyewu
    Torres

Everyone else probably about the same...

Are you serious? Demerit was horrible. I never want to see him on the USMNT again.

He is the one that was so up and down the whole tournament. He was excellent shutting down Rooney against England. He was alright against Slovenia. He was alright against Algeria and was Alright against Ghana except for the goals. The problem with him is that he makes the hard plays look so easy and the easy plays look so hard. That is the major problem with Demerit. He is good but he makes a lot of costly mistakes.

i think you are being tough on jozy..he played most of the time with an inadequate strike partner (findley buddle gomez) he held up the ball created chances earned cards and free kicks for the U.S. a fowards only job isn't scoring and i think that if he had someone more threatning next to him he would have had more chances

Howard really didn't play bad at all, the first goal against ghana was his bad and maybe the first slovenia goal, but in the england game and the rest of the tourny he had some big saves.

how can you say torres is way down? he didn't even get much play time, and when he did he didn't look bad. i don't think his stock went up but it certainly didn't go down

He had some good chances and couldn't finish. Far too often he halted a breakout by attempting to dribble three defenders. Went down a little too easily a little too often.

Credit for the Bradley assist, but beyond that I wasn't very impressed with Altidore.

Bradley I think has been watched by a few Premiership teams for a while. I think his stock has been slowly rising for a while. I don't think his World Cup performance will accelerate this, but it'll add weight to it.
Isn't going to happen, not Wenger's type of player at all. There's a reasonable, but not huge chance he could leave Fulham for another Premiership club before the next season, I don't this World Cup will have much bearing on that though. He performed at the level you'd expect an experinced Premiership player to perform.

I think his stock has risen and it was pretty high anyway. Scored 3 WC goals in 4 games. I'm sure this has reinforced the interest that was in the Premiership anyway and maybe caught the eye of a couple of clubs that weren't looking at him. He could've landed himself a decent club before the World Cup, the sticking point as before is loikely to be the World Cup
Good and bad, he showed what he's shown all season: can be pretty useful on the pitch, but has a way to go before he presents much of a threat on goal.
Being okay to decent is a vast improvement on the woeful displays he's tunred in in the past. I thought he was headed to Mexico anyway?
Mainly will help give him confidence, he really needs to find his feet in European league football first.

despite what some are saying, i think that demerit played well. he was pretty much unbeatable in the air; the first goal today was timmy's positioning and clark's giveaway - demerit tried to constrain the shooting angle with a guy running at him at top speed, and did, but timmy got beat near post; the second was bocanegra's fault. i think demerit was solid and deserves a decent contract at a bigger club. also, demerit isn't really that speedy, but he was smart enough never to really get in a footrace against someone.

thought dempsey, donovan, bradley, feilhaber were very good
jozy, bornstein, cherundolo, howard, edu, buddle were all pretty good
    gomez, onyewu, coach were ok
    findley, clarkx not good

Demerit will never get signed by an EPL team, if he was good enough he would have been signed a long time ago.
