Vegas now has 3 professional teams and the immediate hype for them being so new. For me, that's a tough market to step into at this point. At the same time, if there are investors willing to give it a try and pay all the needed expenses I'm sure MLS would overlook this.

Might be only two too.........All eyes on A's. That's not a good situation right now with Vegas or MLB.

My quick thinking is Sacramento would be better MLS than Vegas. Only basketball in Sacramento and that is offseason for soccer.
Vegas has now got NHL, NFL, eventually MLB and NBA is also on the radar.
That is too much competition for soccer
Also, Vegas approx 660,000 population.. Sacto is around 525,000. Yes, 100,000 less people, but a whole lot less competing teams for the sports $$.

Oh I totally agree , but this felt like a “why not both” scenario. The only real mls movement that’s at least related right now is Indy and sac, who are getting their stadium that can be expanded for mls of given a mls team

I would say #31 would be Sacramento in the west. MLS did pick them, only to have investor problems.
Add an investor and they are probably a go as they have a stadium site and plan.

In the east for #32, my opinions have changed for either Detroit or Indy
-Detroit City FC has bought land for stadium, have a well supported club that is sort of the anti-MLS vibe.
Not sure how deep their pockets are, as they bought a closed hospital that they are going to have to demo even before they can build a new stadium. All that costs $.
    - Indy also has a current team and supported, where MLS is going to maybe force their own team in and crush the existing team (my opinion).Yes, the prior owner made some bad decisions. Now if he and the "new" bid would work together, they could have something going in Indy. MLS could crush Detroit just as well by quickly sticking a team in Ford Field. I wonder if that is in the back of Detroit City FC mind when they bought the hospital land.

Then again, this is MLS and teams sometime fall out of the sky when money appears.
The league could end up putting 2 teams in totally unexpected places.

In a purely greedy sense, I hope both of the next expansion teams are in the east, just so STL gets both of its natural rivals (not just KC) in the same conference as CHI gets bumped west.

DCFC's pockets are not deep, so they would require a new investor/owner that has deep pockets.

Also, Morning Kickaround interviewed someone that has been involved in DCFC since almost the very beginning and he noted that the anti-MLS crowd has drastically reduced at their games. With DCFC's moving around to multiple leagues a lot of that crowd have either left, or they have figured out that the most important thing isn't the league that the team plays in, but that they have a local team to follow.

    Is #prorelforusa still a thing?

They sort of lost their babies with the Cosmos folding, Miami and Detroit joining USL and Chattanooga FC joining MLS NP.A

Yes? Thanks to Twitter's algorithm favoring hate, it's gotten even more toxic. A lot of the OG #prorelforusa crowd has been ostracized for various reasons and has largely been taken over faceless twitter accounts. They've pretty much given up on all US based soccer and it really seems performative to get clicks.

That could be a possibility, but if SAC does come, who are the 2 eastern teams- Figure Indy over Detroit, but who could be another. Tampa had their chance, who else?
