I think that Columbus has a good shot of taking the east, but with united beating the mutts, the Revs chances are looking good. place your vote.
i don't trust chicago. they're playing bad and they're banged up....i still don't trust them. i see this: 1. chi takes 4 pts from clb in their 2 games (chi: 38 pts, clb: 36) 2. ny beats dc sat and loses ne on 21st (ny/nj: 38 pts) 3. revs draw dallas, beat metros (ne: 36 pts) assuming kc gets more than 1 pt in 2 games v col (i think kc will scrape together 3 pts)...chi actually vaults up to the overall 2 seed due to a 3-0-1 record v ny/nj. if kc only manages that 1 pt and has 36. clb would make it in ahead of kc on tiebreakers. wow, what a mess. therefore, my best guess: fire move from 8 to 2 seed metros stay in the 6 spot kc sticks in 7 revs move from 9 to 8th and the crew vanish from the charts faster than a "hansen" song. to round it out: sj/la split wins (away wins for each) col/kc split wins (home each) and dallas takes 4 pts in last 2 final standings? 1. sj (48 pts) 2. chi (38) 3. la (48) 4. dal (44) 5. col (42) 6. ny/nj (38) 7. kc (38) 8. revs (36) 9. clb (36) 10. dc (29)
revs best bet is to tie CLB. they do that, they are ahead of them. Even better if they could play them in the playoffs.
Now that the Metrostars have lost their game in hand I see it as Chi-town or C-bus. I too went with the fire. Chicago will win at Columbus and then tie at Naperville.
well thanks to the great play of my semi-beloved crew, we can win the east like cake. we just need chicago to win. not hard, considering they have thorton, wolff/razov (i forgot which one is hurt) cj brown, nowak, etc. on the other hand, CLB has McB, west, cunningham, but no defense. i didnt get to watch the CLB-CHI game, but shouldnt Chi have a better shot because of a better defense??? anyway, this is one of the very few times i will root against CLB. if McB scores and CLB loses, its a great game. i still want CLB to go to the playoffs, i dunno if its possible if they lose.
