"Cletus was serenaded with a certain little diddy accusing him of eating all the pies" Go for it Clint! You the man! Oh, they meant THAT kind of pie....
so thats why you see him lift his shirt like halfway up in clip of the celebration... good stuff and bill walton is cool for like two seconds while you laugh at his speech impediment.... but then it gets boring and you see how much he sucks
anyone see the Mathis interview on New Jersey Soccer Report on channel 12 this week? Clint has "Cletus" tattoo'd on his back (the word, not the charactor).
He said that he may be a little chubby, but it's OK because the fat comes from Taco Bell (a great American staple food) and Michelob beer (speaks for itself).
I was just at a party and i was talking to one of the DJs there. I jokingly said that my boyfriend was Clint Mathis, a soccer player on the MetroStars. He goes "No way, one of the girls outside used to go out with him." I didn't believe him, so he took me out to meet her. We talked for a few minutes and when she saw how crazy i was about him, she offered to go get her cell so i could call him. He wasn't there and his voice mail was all full, but it was stil a really cool story. Small world...I was joking that my boyfriend was Clint and someone 20 feet away happened to be his ex.
You know what else is funny? I know that girl too! I've seen her hangin' around the bus terminals all the time. She wears a leather mini-skirt even in winter time and she's always sucking on a lollipop and winking at any guy who walks by...
So, people call him cletus because of the tatoo? And why does he have that word tattoed on his back. Will someone please tell me the cletus story.
now that's just plain mean. how can you degrade such a sweet story into a trivial hooker slap. c'mon, let's play nice.
Clint is from Georgia, has a southern accent, etc. So his Nats teammates nicknamed him Cleetus as a joke. You know. Backcountry. Hick. Redneck. Cleetus.
Mathismetro19, this is BigSoccer. People don't need a reason to be mean to a player. They just are sometimes. Having said that, most of the criticism comes from people who think that after the injury he's slacking off and not living up to his potential like he was before the injury. Just don't expect BigSoccer posters to put it that way. It'll be, "That fat bastard doesn't ever run", nevermind the fact that he never really was fast, just got some love handles.
For a guy who's less than a year off an ACL tear and six weeks or so off hernia surgery, I'd say goals in four straight games isn't bad...but people just like to pick on Clint.
