From all the Canadian NT games I've seen last year/this year, I have a very good feeling about this team's chances in the World cup qualifying. Our forward line is as solid as its ever been (Radz, DeRos) and our defenders (DeVos, McKenna, Stalteri) are very strong and seem to be up to challenge. The biggest concern I have for this team is midfield. Rarely have I seen a creative play start and flow from the midfield in any of the games. We got side attackers like Brennan, stalteri, but it seems like we are lacking creativity and solid play built up from the central midfield. Who do you think would be best suited for this role in Canada? Or is playmaker and central midfield play not suited to our style of play in general? Radzinski seems to be the player with the most creative mind for this team, but he's a forward, and guys like Hume and McKenna aren't true midfielders. So who's left? De Guzman? Bircham? Discuss...
Erm? De Guzman in my books is rather ahead of Simpson and I can't see that changing in the future. Simpson is still a little rough around the edges, while De Guzman has been getting quality time in the Bundesliga.
de guzman is a better holding/defensive type player in my mind, & simpson was wicked in the pacific tournament, as was Alfredo Valente.
i'd have to go with simpson just on what he's shown so far.I know we have only seen him a few times, but damn he is busy out there.his goal at the under 20 tournament was voted goal of the tourney as well as his eye opening play in vancouver 2 weeks ago.simpson, deguzman, hutchinson, stalteri seems like a decent mid.
Seems like it's De Guzman as I predicted... it's too bad that I haven't got to see him play too much for Canada lately.
