Well to be fair Deco was sucking before going to the EPL.

I think a poll between Paul Scholes and Rui costa would be better, as both started their careers at roughly the same time and are around the same age.

He was for his first three games when some sun still shined on the ground there:D

Then his balls froze off and will only defrost in the summer:D

Ronaldo isnt affected by the weather because hes inhuman, the season last year proved he must be a cyborg from the future or something.

odd time for this poll isn't it? neither are playing all that well this year. in terms of career overall I voted Scholes, but Deco at his peak a few years back was awesome too. Back in the days when he ruled the Barca midfield.

Agreed. If it was just based on skill it would be Deco hands down but everything else involved i think it gets closer but deco still edges out with the win. However if i wanted my team to get a quick red card through unnecessary fouls scholes would be first on my list :)

I'm just stilll wondering where all the people saying Deco would dominate and destroy the Premiership compared to what Scholes could do in it when he was the same age...

I'm amazed he didn't win the Ballon D'or five times over for his performances this season in honesty. He dominated the league altogether and made Lampard, Scholes, Gerrard, Essien, Alonso, Fabregas, Mascherano, Barry, the lot of them look like complete amateurs.

    Right? RIGHT!?

People really though Deco would dominate the EPL? He was playing like shit for Barca before he went to England, I don't see how some people thought he would all of a sudden become a world beater once again. I was shocked when he started off so well.

Not saying you expected him to do so well, but you might want to read back through this thread then...

Deco was more flashy on his prime, which was quite a short time, while Scholes has performed more consistently for a longer time.

I would rate them even, assuming that Deco leaves my beloved Chelsea the ******** alone.

They are in the same place as those loud-mouths who stated that Ballack was much better than Lamps and Gerrard and would show it when he arrived in England.

Scolari's team was good for about 7 games or so. I know he is used to International tournaments recently so perhaps that was the problem. International tournaments last about 7 games.

At their respective peaks Scholes was by far the better player.

Deco is a shadow of what Scholes could do, though a lot of ManU fans do overrate Scholes he was one of the very best central midfielders in Europe for a long time. Deco was just a flashy one dimensional player, though brilliant but not worthy of comparison with Scholes.
